Court papers have revealed that Michael Sandford, 19, who planned to assassinate Donald Trump in Las Vegas on Saturday, is a British national.
Mr Sandford, who was identified by his British driver's licence, later told officers he had only been in the US for mere months, first in New Jersey and then California.
The British man said he first practiced at the Battlefield Vegas gun range on Thursday, where he fired 20 rounds from a Glock 9mm pistol. If his attempt failed, he said he planned to travel to Phoenix, Arizona, for another rally there.
