We used to laugh at MGMT. Now it's not only openly talked about, it's the #1 Sup Forums artist. I think Death Grips becoming prominent was the beginning of the end back in 2011.
I need a place to talk about how great 94 Diskont and Yerself is Steam and Purse Phase are.
Anthony Cooper
>#1 Sup Forums artist No, just a forced meme
Samuel Ward
I'd say it's been dead since 2014, that's when I left. Came back recently and it's even more shit.
Charles Lewis
The current state of music is such fucking garbage that an MGMT album sounds amazing.
Nicholas Rogers
No, people here are legitimately talking about how great MGMT is.
Colton Scott
that which is dead can never be killed c'mon op just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is wrong
Mason Hernandez
mgmt has always had a following here and congratulations was warmly welcomed when it dropped.
Robert Johnson
I mean it's definitely wrong because this board talks about Lil 69 Man and Xtentacion and Lil Peep boy and all this other complete faggot shit.
What alternatives do I have?
Owen Richardson
the board is dead but has been for some time. The MGMT thing was just a whole bunch of record label shilling.
Lucas Ward
almost all of that is clearly bait though, if you can't see that then this mongolian horse riding forum may just not be for you man
Cooper Green
>almost all of that is clearly bait though Bullfuckingshit.
Jacob Cooper
the warning signs, the collapse, the premonitions mean nothing until your safe space is dissolved. keep pushing that stone
Ayden Kelly
more like it was some friendly shit posting after an anticipated record was released. its fun you fucking faggots.
Brandon Morales
People can like 94 Diskont and MGMT, user. Getting this mad because people like an artist that you don't is autistic.
Jaxson Brooks
Thanks for this profound revelation, you absolute fucking moron.
Dylan Cooper
Not meant to be profound, just explaining something that you clearly don't understand.
If you want to have discussions on your unpopular bands, start them. Even an idiot would know that.
Nicholas Lopez
You can't fucking start them you idiot. The threads get no replies and fall off the board.
Fuck out of my thread. You're stupid.
Carter Torres
I remember Sup Forums thinking pretty highly of Congratulations back in 2010. Death Grips and Kanye West were literally when this board went downhill and the more recent memerap killed it. I hardly browse this place anymore but things were a lot better when the the talking points were spread out among bands like the Flaming Lips, Brand New, Deerhunter, and Animal Collective.
Rap literally ruined Sup Forums
Lincoln Diaz
call it fun if you want but it was an obvious marketing campaign
>haha how good is yellow posting lmao!
Logan Howard
>Animal Collective. This is a major part of the problem too
Logan Rivera
Yeah. Like how low does your IQ have to be to consider what happened "fun"?
Jason Rodriguez
MPP was actually a great album. Sup Forums hypes their older stuff way too much and their more recent stuff isn't great either. But, MPP is the last great pop album I can remember.
I really can't think of a truly great album that has come out since Halcyon Digest. I think that says more about the state of popular music more than anything else.
Liam Sanchez
>MPP was actually a great album Their only good album, more specifically.
Jack Scott
What the hell is an MGMT.
Evan Roberts
abbreviation for management
Landon Walker
People aren't going to post in a thread if you have nothing interesting to say about the bands, retard.
You probably think you're the only avant-teen here who listens to semi-obscure music, don't you?
Brayden Lewis
Is this a new artist? I have never heard of them.
Leo Gomez
I'm the only "avant-teen" here who would punch every tooth down your throat and fuck your mother's filthy asshole
Jose Butler
Halcyon Digest is easily the best album of the decade (my favorite of ll time desu)
Henry Watson
its called shitposting. it was nice that the community could get together even for a single day and get excited about something. if you thought the LDA thing was bad you would have blown your brains out over what MPP, MBDTF and the money store did to Sup Forums after they were released.
Evan Campbell
I've been here since 2009.
today was just as shitty as those times.
Jayden Phillips
embarrassingly bad post
reeks of underage
Sebastian Ortiz
Nah, this destroys the poptimist
Carter Fisher
Yeah but you're so angry over my thread you're going to be crying and punching your pillow tonight
John Ward
Yeah that album in particular is awful
Andrew Hernandez
Nice projection, kiddo.
Ethan Garcia
well i've been here since 07. give it two years and you'll stop giving a shit altogether like i did.
Liam Morris
you can get off this board and make real friends. that would be much more fulfilling
Nathaniel Adams
Sorry about your taste
Noah Sanchez
it is indeed one of the worst tings ive ever heard
Alexander Mitchell
Hey your loss, I'm going to go drift off into my mind listening to Two Sails on a Sound. Peace!
Parker Richardson
Desperate post. You're really grasping at straws now.
I guess this kind of damage control is necessary after you make a string of extremely embarrassing posts.
Julian Garcia
Whats it like knowing you will never fuck a pussy
Joshua Sanders
>people discuss popular music more than unpopular music It doesn't take a genius to figure this out. No matter where you go, this will be the case.
Landon Bailey
If you were born after 1990 you're cultureless. It's a fact.
Dominic Johnson
MGMT is only listened to by people who watch voyeur porn though.
Angel Lopez
not that guy, but is music a status symbol to you or something?? im sure he's a virgin but you make it seem like you can only like music that women could vibe with, that's wack
Elijah Howard
Congratulations has always been sub Sup Forums core.
Camden Brown
That's not what I was referring to at all
My point is that if you enjoy Animal Collective you have the mind of a 12 year old with social interaction probelms
So shut the fuck up everyone and tell me where to go because this board has been overrun with betamales and social outcasts
Kayden Jenkins
I love the album too, but it is literally the last album made that is worth any acknowledgement. It was released almost eight fucking years ago.
Tyler Reyes
Halcyon Digest really was pretty good.
The outro to Desire Lines is one of the best thing I've heard in a long time
Ian Watson
convincing win, ggwp
Evan Walker
hate to burst your bubble but this board has always been filled with betas, let's not forget at any given time the two most popular genres have been indie rock and hip hop, both excessively beta
Ryder Hernandez
OK cool sick tale my man
I have zero interest in discussing music with 20 year olds. Where do I go?
Cooper Thomas
reddit, but they won't be much older or much less beta. they won't be social outcasts though
Robert Clark
i can't even discuss guided by voices here anymore
Jordan Thompson
What did the Money Store do?
Jayden James
what
Austin Clark
probably because it actually has some substance and it isnt just derivative of whatever other popular garbage is coming out now. most music these days is just lacking in the songwriting department, and thats pretty sad.
Brayden Phillips
From my interactions here it just seems like it's all teens. Are there any other music boards on other chans or anywhere with decent traffic?
Christian Cox
OP here
This is what I am asking for
Ryan Miller
Like, there's no one here I can talk to about why It's A Shame About Ray, and DI Go Pop, and Cats & Dogs, and Lapsed, and Boces, and Methodrone are such incredible albums.
I can't because anything outside of the canon is not listened to.

You're better off just seeking out specialist forums for the specific topics you want to discuss. Good luck finding another Sup Forums-esque music forum that gets more than 20 posts a day and isn't a subreddit, though.
Easton Wood

Colton Torres
this board died when cooltop left
Charles Campbell
how to get into GBV bro? I like a lot of similar indie rock but for some reason i've never gotten into them. Good intro album?
