What are some productivity/attitude-porn movies? I want to watch something motivating, something that "aestheticizes" productivity and exertion. Not like a movie about some guy accomplishing his goals, but more like a movie with scenes that make hard work look beautiful. There's a scene in House where Hugh Laurie is pouring over his books for hours on end studying a rare illness... the cinematography fetishizes it and I love it. But, the scenes where House is displaying his knowledge isn't what I'm looking for.
Some movies I can think of: >the beginning of American Psycho >parts of Shame by Alexander McQueen >the beginning of Dr Strange (to a minimum degree)
I know there's probably hundreds more but I can't think of any.
>I want to work harder >I KNOW LET'S WATCH A MOVIE THAT'LL HELP You won't work harder, OP. Just watch Fear and Loathing and call it a night
Cameron Miller
Maybes: Jiro Dreams of Sushi A Beautiful Mind Genius
Cooper Wilson
Pumping Iron
Robert Bennett
>art doesn't have any effect on a person's personality Don't you have a 2d anime girls to jack off to? This isn't Sup Forums
Daniel Wright
Limitless
>TFW no limitless pills to improve life.
Jack Gonzalez
Nightcrawler is literally a criticism of this, but just American Psycho it can make it look really attractive at times
Gattaca has a few of those. In particular, right at the beginning there's a sequence where he falls exhausted after working out over an Astronomy book that always makes me feel like a bum in comparison
In American Gigolo there's a few scenes where he works out while listening to language-learning CDs
Dylan Harris
>scenes that make hard work look beautiful. Every rocky training montage ever. PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT!
Zachary Russell
Well do you want to work harder or don't you? If you do, there you go, that's all you need. If you don't, why did you make this thread. Use the energy you're channeling towards finding just the right movie towards actually working, you parasite.
Aiden Johnson
Black Swan
Lucas Clark
>Alexander McQueen That's not his name.
In answer to your question, check out Margin Call.

>There's a scene in House where Hugh Laurie is pouring over his books for hours on end studying a rare illness... the cinematography fetishizes it and I love it
Can you post it m8? Or at least gives us the episode
Dylan Powell
>If you do, there you go, that's all you need but that's not how human beings work -- again, this isn't anime. humans are weak and prone to procrastination, laziness, change of heart, etc.
>Use the energy you're channeling towards finding just the right movie towards actually working
except if I can find the kinds of movies I'm looking for, I can download cuts of scenes that are motivating to me, and could literally have those motivating scenes for years to come, and that would be well-worth the 20 minute effort of making this thread while brushing my teeth
you know how some people can listen to a song or read a book and it alters their feelings / motivations? I'm like that with movies so idk why you mad
tried to find it but couldn't :( sorry
Landon Diaz
Yeah, Alexander McQueen is the bald guy from Four Lions who hides under the table during the fake suicide bombing.
>humans are weak and prone to procrastination, laziness, change of heart Which is exactly what you'll use that movie for. Go on, be lazy and procrastinate, I don't care
Jacob Ortiz
Great call with Gattaca user. Just a fucking top film all round.
The aforementioned Limitless is another good call.
Grayson Miller
this guy is right, you're essentially procrastinating, only it's worse because you actually think you're doing something to improve .
Jaxson Scott
American Psycho
Asher Cox
Outside of his morning routine, which is a two minute scene, the movie has nothing of this.
Carter Clark
Personal Best.
Dominic Howard
thise. motivated me for at least a week after I watched it
Kevin Scott
>motivated me for at least a week after I watched it To what, eat hot pockets and shitpost?
Colton Richardson
Wolf of Wall Street
Dylan Clark
You're an idiot.
Hudson Brooks
Never Back Down training montages
Nicholas Richardson
Boiler Room Glengarry Glen Ross Pursuit of Happyness I'll even add Yes Man. Jim Carrey is a faggot, but it's a really positive film.
Camden Campbell
>Glengarry Glen Ross Seriously? Did you even watch the movie?
Nathaniel Jackson
Did you?
Parker Thompson
Did I?
Aiden Edwards
The guy's "hard work" boils down to convincing a guy who turns out to be bankrupt and insane into buying real estate, and stealing something from his workplace, which he goes to jail for.
Adrian Morgan
The whole movie is about them grinding it out and trying to sell.
Anthony Sullivan
Yeah, and look at how that turns out for them.
Jaxon Hughes
>Just don't try bro
Why are you here?
Adrian Cox
Did you read the OP? >Not like a movie about some guy accomplishing his goals, but more like a movie with scenes that make hard work look beautiful.
