I dont know much about Bulgaria but honestly when I compare their situation today to their situation under communism it looks like it was a better country under communism. Liberal Capitalism may have improved places like Czech Republic, Poland, and Estonia. I can't say definitively if it's improved Bulgaria or Serbia or Russia.
