yeah it's voyeurism for fucked up people

still don't understand how people think this is a deep "artistic" experience

A little bit of music underneath can go a hell of a long way.

youtube.com/watch?v=t92UkJkfb6g

More disturbing than all of buyer's market imo.

yeah, + considering that there is no work whatsoever put into the sound collage and production. The only thing that is being done is the regroupement of certain extracts thematically but except that, utter pointlessness.

lads....what about "that" album...?

delete this

Its less charged than Buyer's Market lyrically, at least there is some work done in the production, some music.

?

I'd agree its less charged, but I'd say the music sets a tone/vibe/theme and allows the lyrics to pack that extra punch.

you know the one, user

I find the obsessive aspect of it most interesting, that Sotos had to assemble all of the material in a pre-internet age meaning that he would've been constantly looking for documentaries and news programs to tape and collect samples from. But yeah, unless you're interested in his work as a whole (which is much less pleasant than even Buyer's Market), I don't really see the appeal outside of dipshits who make memes about it.

Not him. But I honestly don't get Sotos' appeal in general. The guy isn't your average eccentric wacko. He's a borderline sick fuck and possible pedophile and/or rapist.

This kind of sums up my fascination.
I try not to get too deep into his stuff or anything for good reasons.
But from the little I've heard. It's mostly fucked up interviews mixed with fucked up pedo fic readings and or boring repetitive audio loops.

You won't find any evidence that Sotos is a rapist. There's quite a gap between being sexually fucked up and actually assaulting someone. Don't think that I'm trying to apologize for him or something, though. He is one of my favorite authors but it's not because I want to be pals with him.

As for the "appeal", I find him fascinating in that he has spent nearly four decades publishing books under his own name that explore the most reviled form of sexuality in the west and the sheer degree of autistic (I don't mean this in the Sup Forums insult sense) dedication he has to covering a seemingly narrow set of subject matter over and over and over again. It's essentially reading someone who knows that they're fucked up trying to come to terms and understand their obsessions via an abrasive form of sexual therapy that is repugnant to nearly anyone who reads it.

Proxy is the one that features Sotos reading. He's reading his own material (which is followed by samples like Buyer's Market) and there's one track where he reads an excerpt from the memoir of controversial feminist Andrea Dworkin. I think Waitress is the one that's just dumb repetitive loops.

>still don't understand how people think this is a "deep" artistic experience
i guess i just appreciate that sotos had the interest and the balls to produce and release something like this.

it's not like he glorifies or romanticizes their victimhood, it seems like a very ugly and real take on child sexual abuse. i'm not disagreeing that it's a little fucked up to want to listen to it but i do think things like this have value.

pseudoscorpion

anyone have the cover image? i can't find it anywhere. its sfw. inb4 im banned.

don't start

>i guess i just appreciate that sotos had the interest and the balls to produce and release something like this.
So for something like Buyers Market. Does he interview people or does he find interviews and puts them together.
What do you think about that time he was short interview thing by Howard Stern?
youtube.com/watch?v=S2rl_GofC8E
>Howard started to do a phone interview with this guy Peter Sotos who has written some book about child abuse or murder or something like that. Howard started to tell Peter's story but Peter told Howard that he was wrong about the whole thing. Peter wanted to tell his side of the story but he wanted to start 18 years ago when he was arrested for possession of child pornography. Howard started to get really frustrated immediately and said the story was pitched to him one way and now the story is completely different. He decided not to continue with it because it was boring. He did plug a web site the guy wanted to give out. It was CreationBooks.com. He then wrapped things up and just gave up completely on the interview.

It's not personal interviews. He had to assemble the stuff via TV broadcasts, VHS tapes, etc.

I can't really blame Stern for cutting him off because it's frankly too convoluted and not that interesting for a talk show. He thought he was getting some mastermind child pornographer and instead it's a guy from Chicago who got busted for some dumb shit he did in the '80s.

What album? This has been brought up before and people seem hush hush about it on here for fear of a banhammer. What is it? Just say it.

>That's not music anymore
It's field recordings. That's music, my man.

...

see
dont look for it tho. also there's another thread on Sup Forums rn that's talking about it

It’s an album called”pseudo scorpion” that’s appearantly just audio from CP

Abort thread

please fuck off and die

Who can even get through more than 5 minutes of this shit

>Why did you do the Buyer's Market CDs?

>It was nothing more than selections that I liked listening to. Put in a specific order. That's why the third volume has those little sections repeated over and over again. The JonBenét bit especially. I love the way her voice sounds so squeaky and performed and trained correctly. I let it go on for ten minutes thinking that would be enough time to get my cock hard and then to finish off. I'm usually hard by the time I put the CD on. However I might make the sequences shorter next time. Because as soon as I get to that little burning place in my face where JonBenét is intoning her name over and over again, I want to hear the idiot mother that worries next. The one that is missing her child so much. Christina Williams. And that's what happens, inevitably. You start mixing up the pure painted mess that is a mincing little six-year-old with some blubbering mother. But it works that way. No help from me. The child isn't crying or in any kind of pain other than basking in lavish attention and praise. But I've segued it into this whelping filipino mess talking before a lawn full of reporters and recorders. Her child looked nothing like JonBenét and her distress and confusion is nothing remotely akin to the Ramseys and theirs. Still. They flow together fucking perfectly.
>That is exactly what I call perfect. It is perfect.

>I never would have allowed the first one to come out as it did. I didn't know it until I saw the final package. I gave the dolt that released it a complete package -- master, cover, everything. And then I saw that he added his own touch to the disc itself. He put a photo of Lesley Ann Downey on it and placed her face just where the hole in the center was. I wouldn't have done anything as stupid as that. But the guy didn't understand the nature of the release. Who it was designed for or who I hoped would get it and enjoy it. It didn't ruin the release because it wasn't intentioned as some fucking cheesy art project. And people who buy pornography are used to getting less than what they want. It's a shame though. I would've liked it to be better and more complete. As perfect as the intention. Of course, with the subsequent volumes, I've actually read music reviews of them. Philistines. It has nothing to do with that. I'm not about to set myself up to control or halt that sort of stupidity. I'm just amazed that it keeps getting played. It didn't get the auidence that it was supposed to reach and, considering what I said before, it's probably best that I don't image they do exist.

I was going to post this but I was way too lazy to hold the book open and type it out.

it's pseudoscorpion. most likely it's just a meme though.

thanks for the posts, about to go bust a big one listening to buyer's market.

the fuck is this

whats it like to be such a faggot?

it's from one of his books.
nice digits.

i'll beat your ass after i go out of jail

Wait what the fuck do people legit jerk off to this? Is he being real or what?

Can anyone link me a psuedoscorpion torrent or mega?

are you rly requesting a link to cp? ban this kid plz

I second this

I just want to know the truth: is it real? Or is it an inside joke? It's not like I'm going to actually listen to it, just want to know if it's real so I can help dissuade future anons or know it's fake and spread the facts to all the faggots pretending it's real

you can find mega links to the album, but i never bothered to download them to check if it's legit or not - obvious reasons. isn't really that hard to find. just do digging in supforums and Sup Forums archives.
if it is an inside joke, it's a really distasteful one lmao

delete this post immediately

...

Lmao

brave boy

A theme that runs through his work is that pornography is entirely subjective and so things like child protection or obscenity laws are unequipped to deal with the fact that perverts will jerk off to anything (just go over to Sup Forums and see how many threads are dedicated to people posting innocuous photos of girls on Facebook). He's not being ironic when he wishes that people purchased it as pornography and not "music".

Also this thread is going to get deleted.

i haven't heard it before. this is oddly more unsettling than i'd expected.

...

OHHH SHIIIT

>pic related

>quadruple dubs
checked

Nice digits

Also, soulseek is better and the album is shit.

>someone on Sup Forums has unironically scrobbled pseudoscorpion

fucking epic bros

can someone give me a quick rundown of Peter Sotos. I understand that he collects recordings and news stories of child abuse and sexual abuse but I dont get what's his intention is by doing so. I know that he probably has a sick fascination for this kind of stuff but why does he devote his life documenting sex crimes?

>tfw someone will for sure get banned in this thread
There’s always a madman who eventually says the album title.

It's not music but it's quite interesting.

Never mind. I see someone had already mentioned the title. See ya later, user.

it's already been said, user. now these fucking madmen are sharing the mega. delet this thread immediately

oh fuck, I'm fucking retarded

>know that he probably has a sick fascination for this kind of stuff but why does he devote his life documenting sex crimes?
I think you already answered it. He's just enthralled, to a degree that is probably consistent with some kind of obsessive compulsive disorder, to seeking out material that involves the degradation of human beings. If this thread doesn't get BTFO I can post some interviews with him.

>He is one of my favorite authors

go ahead i guess. thread still isn't deleted

(1995)
JIM GOAD: What are some of the more stupid things that have ever been said in your defense? People who came out in support of you but completely missed the boat?

PETER SOTOS: It's only recently that, I think, people got the idea, I mean, in the last few years. Most of the people who came out in defense of me said just incredibly stupid things, and if they actually tried to help in any way, they were quickly pushed aside by the fact that my trial and the issues involved with my case were child-pornography charges. NAMBLA contacted my lawyers right when I was arrested, and my lawyers, of course, you know-

-Well, with friends like that-

-Yeah, right. Well, there was no way that they were gonna take [NAMBLA's] support. But the thing is, is that my case had a different tint to it. They're talking about age of consent, they're talking about sort of consensual things, and I definitely wasn't. So as far as the First Amendment goes, all these sort of nice, lovey, you know, sort of ecumenical cuddliness that everyone talks about, you know, that Karen Finley type of thing, where it's transgressive or something or cathartic, I definitely wasn't talking about it. I was talking about damage and whatnot. And the stuff that I had, the child pornography I had, wasn't this sort of Menudo-type thing. It wasn't just Jock Sturgis photos or whatever. It was really ugly stuff. It was definitely rape.

I mean, barring pretentious liberal ideological misconceptions, you would agree that you're saying something, or you're commenting-it's just not purely masturbatory material.

Oh, absolutely, absolutely.I think my stuff does work on a lot of different levels. I think it does comment on media. The way the media packages things and the way information's gotten, the way people accept information, what they're looking for, all these different sorts of things. So, I mean, there are all these different aspects.

It seems even God himself can't comprehend just exactly what his creations are capable of.

I actually just threw the digital stuff I have together and uploaded it instead of copy and pasting this shit for an hour. Two word documents and two pdfs. There's no "questionable" content or anything.

here's two easy to find interviews as well.

I feel very interested in this guy's work, and I kinda feel bad about it.
I mean, I'm a curious guy, seeing all points of view was always interesting for me.

Right, but this was actually a delusional woman who called several stations with the same story and mixed up several key elements depending on the station, and also, does this woman even sound like she's in her 20s?

Don't mix the Butthole Surfers in with this pedofuck.

Listening to this is one of the major things that urged me to finish my criminal justice degree.

music is arranged sound

Are modern BS fans really the kind of easily offended cunts who wouldn't want them being associated with Sotos? Considering the scene they were in I'd be surprised if they weren't fans themselves.

THIS IS NO LONGER PODRACING

How's the job market for that degree?

To be clear the term itself "Pseudoscorpion" is safe to look up because that's a real animal.

I was smart enough not to put 'album' after it because I don't want to fucking know. So yeah. Fact of the day

Technically it's a sound collage.

I'm trying not to pass judgement too easily on the guy but I just don't get it. What does showing people how fucked up pedophiles are say about media exactly? What does exposing this shit do? mean it's just really hard to see past him just looking like he loves to shock people

>he loves to shock people
Bingo.

>What does showing people how fucked up pedophiles are say about media exactly? What does exposing this shit do?
It's just a very basic critique centered at the way the media thrives on salacious details of sexual crimes and serial killers. Despite Sotos's fascination with this kind of material, he seems to think that it would be better off if it didn't exist because he doesn't see it as serving any kind of positive purpose. What can someone get out of watching the 50th episode of Nancy Grace in which she asks a grieving mother how it felt to bury her child, for example.

If he wanted to shock people he'd be holding corny art exhibits to the public and releasing his books in quantities more than a few hundred copies. He's been doing this stuff since the 1980s and it's done nothing but cause him problems. If it was an Alice Cooper shtick then I think he would have given up after being arrested.

That would make sense to me if he didn't talk about jerking off to his own material and hoping others could get the same enjoyment out of it?

comparing our sympathy and sick fascination with the gory details still seems pretty different from sympathizing with the pedophile/rapist, cause he does it by showing you what gets them off in hope youre getting the same thing out of it. Putting the victims pain on display for pleasure. Kind of like most of clockwork orange, until the very end where he flipped it on us.. but uhh where does this guy ever flip it on us? Just seems like he's inviting us all to participate in the degeneracy

>but uhh where does this guy ever flip it on us? Just seems like he's inviting us all to participate in the degeneracy
I feel like a dickhead telling you that you need to read his books to understand this (because they're all out of print and exorbitantly overpriced) but you'd see that element there. As he got older and his writing matured, the blatant edginess and "transgressive" cliches that littered his very early writings become tempered with regret and intense self-loathing. Mid-paragraph he will shift from his sexually violent fantasies into referring to himself as a "disgusting pig" indulging in pain that has been inflicted on real people who are still trying to understand what happened to them. It's something far from pedophile apologia, essentially, but I also think people are making a mistake in trying to garner a coherent cultural critique from his work (which is why I called the message "very basic") because you will quickly run into the hypocrisy of him claiming that Buyer's Market is simply masturbation fodder. He recognizes the abhorrence of what this means, but it doesn't cease his attraction to it.

why can we never have a comfy peter sotos thread without some sperg bringing up P.S. and derailing it
