>Stafford

because QB is the most important position and teams rather overpay for a decent level than be a QB revolving door like the Browns are every year.

Salary cap is increasing. In a couple of years Stafford will be much lower

>Dak Prescott is making less than a million a year
He's getting jewed so hard by Jerry Jones kek

>caring about how sleazy Jewish billionaires spend their money
Inb4 muhh cap excuse like the cuckold worm you are

Tom Brady took a pay cut to keep his team competitive. Salary cap is a bitch
He's a true compatriot

Nobody expected him to get the shot. Romo got hurt, plans changed

Don't know if trolling or not but ever since JaMarcus you can't negotiate with rookies anymore outside first round picks and the amount of guaranteed money they can earn for the first year alone outside that it is a standard basic 4(3 for fourth rounders to undrafted iirc) year deal

Considering that the NFL makes $10 billion per year, this is shockingly low. Look at the NBA and the European soccer leagues, they bring in less than half the money but the top players are getting paid way more. Even MLB makes less money but has higher paid players.

>French soccer: Neymar $70 mil
>Spanish soccer: Ronaldo $50 mil
>NBA: Curry $40 mil
>MLB: Kershaw $33 million

Guys like Rodgers and Brady should honestly be in the $100 mil range.

If isnt a brady/manning/brees/rodgers type of player..

Id just load the fuck out of the defense and Oline...just hand the ball off and get dominant defensive players with that money.

QB is the most important position on the field..but if its overvalued then you just handicap the rest of your team.

Id legit release Stafford/Flacco and build an elite defense and pound the ball with cheap RBs.

There are also 53 roster spots that need to be paid.

That's what they get hor having 100 players in each team.

Yeah. And look at each league on an individual basis. Spanish league is a two horse race, Italian is one horse, French is one horse, Turkey, Poland, Greece, Scotland, Denmark, and Portugal are all one horse races also. Nfl is in the business of staying in business. The model of the Steelers / cowboys dynasties was not sustainable. Cap and drafting gives every team the opportunity to be competitive. In 2010, Seattle and Arizona played a week 17 game to earn a playoff spot. Both teams were 6-9, the division was a laughingstock. Now look, it's one of the most competitive leagues in football

2bh things like this + belichick's genius are the main reasons the pats are so good. they have a few guys making big money, but a lot of dudes willing to put money aside for a ring. i say this as a colts fan.

Because that's worked so well for the
>Chiefs
>Texans
>Broncos
>Minnesota
the last 2 years, right?

You need a competent QB to exhibit not only the skills to keep your team in the game, but leadership and poise. Teams need a central figure to rally behind and will your team to victory. The times an elite defense and middling QB play won SBs can be counted on one hand, while the opposite (great QB play, decent defensive play) has won several more owls.

Fuck the colts, I'm glad you guys suck now
T. Texans fan

Thats good in theory but top defensive players make a lot too so for every 20M dollar QB you would only get 2-3 good defensive players for the same amount

>5. Kirk Cousins $23.9 mil
I had no idea. Holy shit.

On a 1-year deal no less.

Redskins are fucking retarded

No salary cap in European soccer, MLB's salary cap is theoretical (Los Angeles, Boston, and New York routinely smash through it), and the NBA only has 11 or 12 players per team, with just 5 actually playing at any given time. Plus the ungodly number of injuries in the NFL means you need to have a lot of guys on the payroll. If injuries were rarer or if there was no cap, NFL QBs would be getting paid insane amounts of money.

It's also worth noting that the only reason teams are making billions every year is because of tv rights. Once that shit dries up (probably in the next 20 years) from all the cord cutters, the team's values are gonna plummet

This is such bullshit
>Caps make the game more competitive
Wrong. The 80s and early 90s was uncapped and very competitive.
>Cowboys/Steelers dynasty was unsustainable

Seriously!? Those teams didn't do shit in the 80s. Again, an uncapped era, completely shitting on your theory that money teams can stranglehold the NFL.

The draft rules and the fact that the TV contracts are split evenly means that there is no reason EVERY team can't draft/buy a winning roster AND make profit.

how's your stadium doing faglord? congrats on finally beating the colts at lucas oil for the first time btw. i'll laugh when >we beat you without luck this year.

>Tom Brady took a pay cut to keep his team competitive. Salary cap is a bitch
>He's a true compatriot

Brady makes more from winning than he does from just his salary. Think of how lucrative every SB win has been for him. It's definitely admirable that he's taking a paycut, but at the same time he's making tons of money from it in the long run.

>The 80s and early 90s was uncapped and very competitive.
Yeah that's because the cowboys and Steelers were rebuilding lol

I'm sure he makes more from his sponsorship deals and bonuses than he does in salary, yeah, but OP didn't start a thread about theoretical earnings, just about the take-home pay

Suffered for long enough, man. I feel like Texans fans take it for granted that they can beat Indy, it took a long time

He was tagged twice and never signed to a long term deal

1. Passing league
2. Rather have mediocre QB than shit , see Browns

Which proves popularity doesn't make you exempt from up and down years like any other team. Also, the niners were just flat out better. Walsh is goat. Can't rebuild when he's drafting all the best talent

Every time you use the franchise tag on a player, you have to increase his pay. Skins have used it on Cousins twice, you'd think they would have got the hint that he wants nothing to do with him by now but it seems they're content to throw money at him to hold on to him

Looks right to me. Zeke and the o-line should have the multimillion dollar contracts.

A lot if these don't mean shit because they can get cut and not be fully paid etc. There's no such thing as a fully guranteed contract in NFL

You are a faggot

yep. if you don't have a good qb, you cant win. the only 2 super bowl winners in the last 25 years had liabilities at qb. The 2000 Ravens, and 2015 Broncos,, and those are among the all-time defensive units

The NFL has 30% turnover rate every year. Look at the top 15 on the list and notice how little those guys have moved around in their careers. When theyre contract comes up, you pay them big or lose them. Good qbs have incredible leverage when it comes to contracts

You are a retarded monkey who can't see past the lies of billionaires. Stay cucked.

Shows how good Joe Gibbs was
Wins 3 titles with 3 QBs not in the hall of fame

>what are rookie contracts

you literally get payed based 100% on when you got picked

kys

it helps when his wife makes $30mil+ a year too

Easy to take a paycut when your wife makes 3 times what you make. If Brady's wife didn't work I doubt he takes a pay cut.

based brazilian supermodel

Kek

Gisele spends all of Brady's money and none of her ow

>80s and 90s were competitive

>AFC a complete dumpster fire aside from the Raiders in the beginning of the 80s

>49ers dominate with a two runs from the skins, One because of a shortened season when most teams had fill ins and no starters and one after the owner buys a stacked team

>90s is the Cowboys after Jerry buys a stacked team

>Super Bowl was a shit show because the AFC sucked and the NFCC was considered the real owl

Even before he met Gisele, he took below market deals to help out the team, his endorsement deals more than covered what he wasn't making given his lower salary

>28 Dak Presgoat

s is the Cowboys after Jerry buys a stacked team

He bought the worst roster in the NFL in 1988. That team was absolute garbage, minus Herschel Walker.

If you only started watching football after the Madden football series, then you should kys or just lurk more.

>The bears we're good for 3 straight years including 85
>the skins had 3 not two rings
>The Bengals appeared in two owls and played them close for the AFC
>The NY Giants under parcels was great
>The cowboys which has already been discussed

Do you know anything about football?

damn... really made me think... you should be a coach...

because the league along with Robert Kraft have set the nfl up to basically be a qb wr focused league. if you don't have a top 5 qb you are shit and won't win until you find one.

>Mark Rypien(which is where I stopped using the 2 times in 25 years example)
>Doug Williams
>Don't even know the third
Good point, never thought of that

Wtf does Robert Kraft have to do with that?

>Robert (((Kraft)))

whining about rules to protect Brady which in turn protected the qb and cut the balls off the defense. these rules established the qb as the position of most need because why bother running when no one can touch the qb or receivers.

That was Peyton whining after his receivers were shut down in the 2004 playoffs by the Pats defense.

As far as QB's, thy just made it where you couldn't dive at their legs, which is a good thing, dumbass.

But the Patriots do fine with an average quarterback.

>just made it where you couldn't dive at the legs
imagine being this delusional. hit them to hard to low to high or drive them into the ground hit them while sliding are all penalties. i knew some patsfag would rush to cup the balls of Brady or Kraft.

He probably makes more in endorsements and his wife makes a ton.

Because you watch football. The NFL makes money based on the effort and of their players. If you don't like it, go watch high school football.

(You)

(You)

Yes he absolutely would. It's the type of guy he is.

For the NBA the reason why is a super player can carry the entire team and there's lot less players overall. (18 total) Meanwhile you have to spread out money to 52 players in the NFL. Also, unlike soccer, there's a salary cap so can't throw money at top players.

Brady is an outlier because he's a system baby and knows the moment he leaves the Patriots his entire career will go up in flames so he's willing to take it up the ass paycheck wise to stay in New England at any cost.

Doesn't he also take fat signing bonuses to dodge the cap or is that a meme I saw on here?

Eh, teams will just have their own subscription service and make money on that. Though the gravy days of tv advertiser bucks will be gone, you are right

The best this gets you is an asswhooping in the conference championship (most recently the 2010 jets)

Tom brady and the patriot way

why don't players agree to make Bobby Bonilla money so they're set for life

>that dropoff between 20 and 22

Just like that hero Durant.
