Freak Out. Then just go in order.

His best obviously

If you want more of the same: Over-nite Sensation
If you want more jazz fusion: Hot Rats
If you want more hard rock: Sheik Yer Bouti
If you want something experimental: Uncle Meat
If you love all of this shit then just start with Freak Out! and go chronologically from there.

Sit down, be humble

Thank You. I think I'll try and follow that flowchart. Seems like I have a long ride ahead of me.

Alternate lore: “Squeeze Me Macaroni” by Mr. Bungle was actually written by Weird Al, and is his impression of rap music.

When you think about it, Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe are book ends.

one size fits all
roxy and elsewhere

is that mandy patinkin?
'Hello, My name is Inigo Montoya....'

they were sold together on one CD at some point
The Grand Wazoo, Joe's Garage, and Zappa in New York are also quite good

over-nite sensation is very similar in style, i think its even better than apostrophe desu

man, I wish I had the patience and dedication it takes to really follow a flowchart... but I don't... are there really people that go in for it? that say to themselves: "yeah, this week, I'll go through the entire discography of [insert band/artist], following this fowhcart"?

kudos to you in that case...

flow chart is probably the best, but honestly if you just listen to random albums and check the years, you'll quickly get a good idea of what was going on when. don't skimp on the live stuff
