come senpai there are hundred of depressive black metal that's better than angry heavy metal vocals over typical progressions

i'm never depressed i'm the fucking happiest person alive

check out sun devoured earth and planning for burial. they're both similar enough that you're likely to find them easy to get into.

it's my depression album bitch, shut up

I listen to this and then watch Moral Orel.

I like to blast this when I'm drunk and sad. The electric version of We Found Two Dead Swans legit makes me want to kms. It really captures that deadbeat midwestern small town feel. It reminds me of smoking cigarettes in the woods or the night my friend got hit by a train, or just being lonely in general.

depression-core in that it makes me feel better in a tasteful way without just shoving good vibes down my ears.

i think sun devoured earth is closer to hanl - moody reverb drenched production, simple machine drums, synth, bass, basic but effective riffs, that same kind of gloomy atmospheric post-punk. pfb is only really similar in that it could also be called 'gloom' and his music is also pretty moody, but his songwriting and production (especially recently) are very different. i just recommend him cause i found him through hanl and enemies list and i've loved his stuff ever since.

...

no it's shit, get a better album

...

gas it

this was my go to album in my angsty high school days

i think it's excellent too. the riffs, the doomgazey production, the lyrics and vocals, all really on point.

a little bummed about created in the image of suffering and the domineering and over the top gothic vocals kristina has taken to. doesn't seem like they're going to have another release i like half as much. that's okay though, the ep i love.

Yeah, already 20 minutes in to the s/t, it's pretty great. Def has more of a hanl vibe to it, though I like that it's a little more post-rocky. Am enjoying

glad to hear it man. i'd particularly rec sounds of desolation, good memories are the hardest to keep and static life. some seriously beautiful downer slowcore tracks on those. show me the road to joy, depersonalization, benbarhahetojuka, the martyr and chorus of passing are so fuckin good.

>Having just one depression album instead of all the music you listen to
fucking amateur lmao

FEELING LIKE IM STRANDED IN A MOB

imagine doing this

Good grief.

Well the night does funny things inside a man
These old tom-cat feelings you don't understand
Well I turn around to look at you
You light a cigarette
I wish I had the guts to bum one
But we've never met
And I hope that I don't fall in love with you
I can see that you are lonesome just like me
And it being late, you'd like some some company
Well I turn around to look at you
And you look back at me
The guy you're with he's up and split
The chair next to you's free
And I hope that you don't fall in love with me
Now it's closing time, the music's fading out
Last call for drinks, I'll have another stout
Well I turn around to look at you
You're nowhere to be found
I search the place for your lost face
Guess I'll have another round
And I think that I just fell in love with you

Ironically this along with his first album fits me right. It makes me move on, stop being a wussy, and get shit done. Everytime I listen, it feels like there's something that fills the void inside me, and says "fuck everybody, I'll do everything my own way". Not sure why, but "The Lucky One" , "Birthright" and "Under My Feet" fits just right and sometimes feels like I'm the lyrical subject.

literally anything by rowland

my go-to exisential angst album

It makes all of my bad, worthless feelings feel meaningful and like I'm worth a shit

A Warm Place makes everything fade away for a little while

First time I heard this I thought it was edgy amateur crap. Now it’s one of my favorites. Any other recs like this?

...

I don't think pic related is depressing per se but it always makes me feel really empty inside. Lovely album for long train/bus trips.

my nigga

Anyone got some recs for depressive albums that arent overtly dark sounding? I usually dont feel anything from straight up gloom
