What level of performance are the Indy Lights comparable to? Formula 2?

indy lights is to indycar as F2 is to F1

F2 are probably a bit quicker, but Lights have to run ovals cheaply too
Indycars have ~750hp while indy lights have ~500hp, chassis are ~1500lbs. So indycars are slower than f1 but faster than f2, but lights are slower than f2. indy chassis are spec (dallara) to control costs.
F2 is about as fast as indycar, pound for pound. F2 cars have 4.0 Liter V8s running 620 horespower or so. Indycar runs a 2.2 liter turbo V6 with anywhere from 550 to 700 horsepower depending on boost.
F1's performance is still absolute king. No idea on horsepower numbers since it's all so secret and they are hybrids, but they can do 330kph with a medium downforce setup and pull almost 6g's in turns.
Indy Lights are awesome thought because they are really cheap.

Bourdais is a good driver in the rain. It's his first road course back in the car and he'll be chomping at the bit.
Josef is our Points Leader right now. The prospective champion can't afford any mistakes, BUT he also can't afford to finish behind Scott Dixon in either of these last two races.
Alexander Rossi is our pole sitter. Rainy Conditions will throw everyone for a loop, he's not concerned about points so much as a win.
Scott Dixon, another year and another championship he's contending for. His main goal, like Newgarden, is to finish ahead of all of his championship competitors.
Buckle up gents, should be a great race.
Indycars today are about as fast as F1 cars from 2014.

F1 and Indy are about the same HP but F1 is lighter, better brakes, and has hybrid boost up to ??? More hp.
