Hello Sup Forums I just wanted to ask for some opinions. I want to get into Pink Floyd but I don’t know where to start. I’ve seen some of the flow charts but I really want to hear how good certain albums are. So my question is what is the best Pink Floyd album? I’ve never listened to any progressive rock prior to now and I want to start with this band

Don't reply to me, please.

Can I reply to you?

meddle could be connoisseur tier if seamus never happened

(thats the shitty one that ruins the album)

that's...what I just said

Every single time

>Best PF album
Between Saucerful and DSotM,

I would start with DSotM, it's easy on the ears and pretty good.

> I really want to hear how good certain albums are

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Fun and crazy, great stuff.

A Saucerful of Secrets.
Less fun, slightly more abrasive.

More
Boring, forgettable stuff.

Ummagumma
Very Hard to listen the first few times, the live stuff is great and the studio stuff is mixed. Probably the worst one to start.

Atom Heart Mother
A 25min Opener that's great, 3 great pop songs and a great finisher.

Meddle
Has the best song they ever made, it's alright as an album.

Obscured by Clouds
Most underrated album they have.

Dark Side of the Moon
Great album for people who want to get into albums.

Wish You Were Here
Great songs, even better if you liked the Syd stuff.

Animals
Waters takes control of the band and does a great album.

The Wall
Waters takes control of the band and does a Bad album that's painfully overrated.

The Final Cut
The Wall but Worse.

A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Water leaves the band, David does a bad album.

The Division Bell
Sad album that was made to finish off the band. I like the lyrics but the singing is really bad.

The Endless River
Instrumentals rejected from TDB that sound much better that the album. Also, only one song has vocals and it's good.

Pretty much the opposite

You must be 18 or older to post here.

>three fucking hours later

Sorry for the late reply. I was making spaghetti and forgot I posted

Die in a car fire newtrip

Meddle is the greatest Pink Floyd album.
Sydfags and Watersfags need not apply.
>b-but its a waters album!!!1
It's considered a bridge between the two eras.

I just got done listening to this. It was mindblowing. Thank you. Any other recs for music that is like the last track, "Echoes"?

>being this wrong

No matter what anybody in this thread tells you, make sure to listen to Piper At The Gates of Dawn in BOTH mono AND Stereo, and compare the differences for yourself, and yes, there are many.

After that, other than pic related, you're on your own.

I don't care that you got dubs.
As a Syd Fag as you so eloquently put it, Meddle is the one post Barrett PF album I can listen to from start to finish w/o skipping any songs. Not a clunker in the bunch.

Although not as long, and I'm sure I'll get shit for this, if you liked Echoes, you might also like Careful With That Axe, Eugene or Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up.
