Le samurai

Why does a nihilistic french assassin care about things like honor and bushido? Why did he kill himself? This movie was fucking dumb. The character was just a depressing mess, it had nothing to do with being a modern samurai.

You have to be white to understand it. Stick to capeshit burger.

he was the first weeaboo

The film frames it around the idea of Bushido, but the character itself never mentions it, Melville was pretty much giving you a framework to understanding the assassin, basing the style of the movie on Yakuza films from the 50's.

He is the archetype of the existential hero, someone who has severed ties with material society, and that is punished by it for not conforming. He is strange and lives a code of ethics that people don't seem to understand, like something Camus wrote.

Not that hard to get OP

would you of understood it if it had been Le Jedi? dummy

Literrally me: The Movie

He obviously didnt like playing cat and mouse. His daily life consists in nothing more that studying his victim. What we see in the opening scene is the motion of things he did offscreen. Basically the most mundane routine. One other thing is he cant enjoy the money he makes because that would draw attention, literally lives in some old hotel/house.
Now as for the part of wanting to be killed. All his jobs were perfect strikes, why? Because his rules. Killing the manager of the club was his first fucked up. Didnt you see how he ditched the police in the train station, easy cake.
He cared about his lover, the blonde woman and was atractted by the nigress silence, that gave him a thrill, a emotion he hasnt felt before, he knew that he would fail again. There was no exit from it. Like the user said, this is like some Camus novel.

star wars ameritard nerd spotted

Can you guys make an argument or do you just come to Sup Forums to ad hominem all day?

>ientire section of the movie is about le samourai being interrogated by the policemen
Almost fell asleep desu

Ad homo all day, everyday

Why didn't he change his fucking coat? Just ask one of your bodies you were with for another. And this isn't Bushido bullshit because he still creates his alibi trough deception, the fuck is wrong with everyone has seen you going in and out, what the fuck.

boring film, terrible ending, so many pointless plot points, ugly women, everything this "assassin" does seems like he either wants to get caught or he doesnt care, what a terribly written character.
