Roger Ebert's Best Films of the Year (1967-2012)

Are there anymore lists like this around that give a best film of the year title dating back at least 20 to 30 years?

Thanks Gramps

Agreed

Roger Ebert has shit pleb taste, so fuck his list.

>Argo
i thought i respected him

You can see how age plebified his mind

>crash

Fargo is GOAT.

>1973: Cries and Whispers
>1974: Scenes from a Marriage

Based Bergman, just watched Wild Strawberries, beautiful film.
Also,
>1977: 3 Women
I'm sure if the list stretched back another year Persona would have got it easily

bold choice with Dark City.

I know looked longer made me even more pissed

minority report is a great choice

but
>juno
>monster
>monsters ball
>million dollar baby
>almost famous
He has the taste of a woman sometimes

not to mention shindlers list, platoon, pans labiarinth, all garbage

>2005: Crash

What an embarrassing hack.

when is he gonna update the list with 2013-2016

Cahiers du cinema's top 10 since 1951 (missing the 70s though)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cahiers_du_cinéma#Film_top_10s

Jesus Christ what a terrible list. Even my unenlightened mother realised Crash was embarrassing trash. What a fucking hack. I thought I respected him.

agreed

Reminder Ebert was kind of a wuss, when he reviewed Aliens he acted like a little kid or a woman and said he was felt physically ill for scenes. Not only is Aliens overrated and nowhere near the first Ebert had a soft stomach and used his softness when critiquing it negatively

but those are actually good

damn the 60s were great

>My Dinner with Andre
>Amadeus
>Goodfellas
>Fargo
>Dark City
>Being John Malkovich
>Million Dollar Baby
>Pan's Labyrinth
>A Separation
>Synecdoche
ABSOLUTELY BASE-

>Crash
>Juno
>Minority Report
>The Hurt Locker
>Argo
God dammit, what a hack

dark city? that's the one i'm most surprised at. i mean i like the movie but i wouldn't have picked that as best of the year. i would have probably went with the truman show or saving private ryan (SPR was huge at the time and everyone loved it)

fucking shit taste, mine would be a million times better and i dont get paid for this shit and wont die overrated

post your list

Kind of related
Armond's yearly top 10 from 1997-2006
alumnus.caltech.edu/~ejohnson/critics/white.html

If a Jew or movie came out that year, it gets picked.

He was probably confused by "Minority Report", thinking it was a documentary about blacks and not a movie starring Tom Cruise.

That's a terrible list.

Whoa. I had never known they made Schoenberg's Moses Und Aron in to a film. Thanks! I'll check it out. Bergman's the Magic Flute is pretty good.

I didn't realize Ebert had such shit taste.

>As I was Moving
>good

I'd also recommend Castellucci's mise en scene of Moses und aron, from around 2015.

oops forgot link

Objectively awful taste

Up til about 95, this shows some pretty good taste. You should check out his and Siskels top 10 of every year from 69 to 98 to get some great recommendations

all these plebs getting triggered by actual good taste
your board proves you have poor taste

Quantum of Solace had some of the worst editing from any recent mainstream blockbuster film and there is some pretty stiff competition for that title.

>actually caring about anyone elses taste in things

The only persons list that matters is your own, and anyone that tries to "prove themselves patrician" is inevitably a pleb. True patrician is not caring at all what others think.

here you go crossed out all the non-kinos for u

pleb its fine on a rewatch

calling me a pleb doesn't change the fact that some of the action sequences were edited like shite

It also had a shit villain.

That movie is a mindfuck.

Absolute kino and underrated as fuck.

Posting the superior critic

It's not that great and keifer is garbage in it.

I agree with your based list but you didn't think Minority Report was good? I loved that fucking movie. Pure kino. Spielberg's best film, imo...

I watched it recently from some tv thread that hyped it up and it just isn't.

It's too long for what you get, its pretty bland in a lot of ways and the action is very generic (that fucking scene where they are running around in the industrial plant or whatever was garbage).

The underlying story is stolid because its a dick story but other than that, pretty mediocre.
