Isn't all about what they get out of it? And their perspective could be potentially vastly different from yours in sympathizing or understanding music as an art form too. These are things that even a fool can understand.

I think the whole "pleb" thing is meant as an encouragement to explore more music, if you keep listening to system of a down for your entire life since 15 then you don't get the chance to discover something more meaningful to you, and your tastes won't mature. I very much benefited from this board bullying me because I used to be only into prog wankery. I still like prog wankery but I've diversified my tastes to something a little more eclectic and open minded.
I think it's fun to criticize people who post their musical opinions on the internet for everyone to see

I tend to come here to talk Bob Dylan alongside more obscure folk music as I know my shit and it feels good to introduce young people to stuff they wouldn’t otherwise listen to.
Most of us wouldn't ever really care in the real world. But this is the music board. No one should go on here expecting their music taste to not be judged.

In my opinion, if you need people who on the surface are complete jackasses on the internet to change how you think about music, then I think that's a tragic flaw that a person could have. Especially if that relates to so many people
But it is very rare to see genuine criticism here of what they should do about the music they listen to, instead it is complete bullshit that doesn't mean anything and is reductive to the point of what they are trying to do

thread, i'm finally enjoying this album wholeheartedly. not fully, but i'm getting there. the last reply by user saying its rock music stripped off nearly all of it's conventions leaving only atmosphere and altitude convinced me for a second listen.
