Yes, keep in mind though that the first season in TNG and DS9 are absolute garbage. But if you muscle through it your efforts will be rewarded.

Watch it, then you can read Larp Trek

My wife and I watched TNG over the course of a few years while getting really, really high. It's pretty damn good starting halfway S2, then by S3 it's amazing comfy socio-politico kino.

Both TNG and DS9 go great with either cannabis or alcohol.

When you are watching your modern sci-fi, and you are curious what they are ripping all their ideas from, the answer is usually old Star Trek.

You know, I've been watching Trek for years and that actually never occurred to me.

>is it old man tier

How many young attractive people do you know really enjoy Star Trek?

Does that determine a shows worth in any way? Didn't think so.

What does old man tier have to do with quality?

Maybe not hardcore fans but Star Trek is a classic, everyone has watched a few episodes here and there. If you haven't then well done you special snowflake.

>is Star Trek WORTH watching
Read the OP again.

90% of the fans on Sup Forums have never watched or outright despises the actual classic original series and movies, and TNG isn't considered as classic in the cultural conscious yet.

all ages enjoy trek you faggot

>You will never serve on the Enterprise.
>To even be the janitor you'd need to be as smart as Stephen Hawking.

It's not fair, bros.

You know that's bullshit.

Try to get a 2016 teenager to sit through one episode of TNG or even worse, TOS which I can fucking guarantee you don't watch either and get back to me.

Not at all my man. Not everyone like Trek but those that do are of all ages.

Don't watch Star Trek if you have to ask Sup Forums. Just go stick a frozen roll of Bob Evans sausage up your ass and watch MLP.

That's because it's not true.

It's been referenced countless times in pop culture. Especially in cartoons aimed at people in their late teens and adults. Of course Seth Mcfarlane is a huge TNG fan so it's not surprising that it shows up in Family Guy.

Janeway has the highest midichlorian level in Hogwarts.

>why not both?

Been marathoning the entire series and all the movies for about a year now.

Just started Enterprise Season 3 earlier today.

>scifi fan
>Never seen TNG

Get out poser scum

Myself

You don't need to go to the academy to be on the Enterprise.

I swear, half the people who post on these threads have never watched the show.

...

"Commander, tell me about your sexual organs."

>You stay here, you're gonna die. Not all at once, but little by little. Eventually, you'll become as hollow as I am.

I'm 18. I started watching TOS at 16 and loved it.

How are you possibly a fan of science fiction if a 25 year old show could be considered old man tier to you (whatever that means in this context)?

>Just started Enterprise Season 3 earlier today.

Envy you, seriously. Best ENT season.

>has
How dare you imply ownership of one collection of molecules over another!

>I WON'T LET YOU DO IT
>I don't want you to die

i recently started the original series , the one with the baby alone in the ship and the man trap are pretty good so far, should i watch voyager or enterprise next? i'm old man tier? only 26's here

Why is Picard so impatient in Skin of Evil?
>trying to save a patient
>Did they live?
>about to scan
>What is wrong with them?

Next Gen is literally the only one worth watching and half of the episodes are terrible.

TOS, TNG, and DS9 are the only ones watching front to back.
There are decent episodes of both VOY and ENT, but frankly it was a chore for me to watch every episode of those two.

>not getting comfy with Naomi, Flotter, and the Borg

i just looking foward to see how 90's espacial sci-fi was made, i saw the x-files last year and was pretty comfy series to watch.

DS9 is the one where they are stranded in the far galaxy?

that's Voyager

...

No DS9 is the one that's "not very star trek" but objectively the best made series.
Voyager gets stranded in the Delta quadrant, and ends up being far more boring than the premise suggests.

she grew up so fast.. *whispers this*

>No DS9 is the one that's "not very star trek" but objectively the best made series.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!

Why didn't thy have attractive women in the cast? The dark hair one looks like a Greek prostitute, the redhead looks like someone who would do ads for mom jeans at the local outlet mall and the blonde was a mega dyke. Minor characters were the only women in the show who were even mildly attractive.

Then there was the casting of this faggot...

imdb says that in voyager the federation is 75 years away from warp, how many year is this from kirk and his ship?

>Complains because not enough hotties and fap material

Use your head or porn. If the character is hot but she's horrible acting wise or doesn't fit in with the case then it shouldn't be there.

That goes for any series.

What? Read that again boyo.
They're stranded 75years away from Federation space at max warp, not set 75 years before warp travel "that would put it a few decades before humans even left earth after first contact

Over 160 million women in the US, think they could find someone who is both attractive and can act. Instead they found women who were bland and were poor actors.

Are you me?

>No DS9 is the one that's "not very star trek" but objectively the best made series.

...

are you a hardcore fan? Something i should read or see about the time line or star trek universe in general? besides from all the series of course, maybe something about first contact

So glad that he kept your cortisol levels high and your head low.

they enjoy """""""Star Trek"""""""

...

...

...

Such a beautiful creature.
*assimilates willfully*

Still yellow, and green if you know what I mean.

...

Adult hood is realizing Neelix was wise beyond his years.

Voyager is pretty bad to be honest.
Enterprise is cool but watch everything else first or its hard to appreciate.

>only things that interest 2016 teenagers are good
Are you high? Or some kind of autistic brain floating in a vat desperately trying to understand humanity but failing at every turn?

>it's Damar!
>it's Damar!
>drinkin kanar!

I'm 26 and started watching this Monday and I'm loving it. Almost done with S1!

tos/jj trek - young attractive people from 18 to 25
tng/original film series - fat neckbeards from 35 to 60

don't debate me on this

>captain, do you wish to join me in sexual activities

I'm not really a fan of the philosophy behind it, but it's pretty fun I guess.

...

Why does BBC America have seasons 1 and 2 of TNG in Blu-Ray but everything afterwards is in zoomed blurry 240p.
It's worse than the DVD rips.

choose wisely

>didnt fall in love with troi

...

Dr. Selar any day of the week.
A passive aggressive psychologist who can also read your emotions... no thanks.

who's also a loser when she loses her, as she calls it, "power".

>cries
>be a bitch to your best friends
>cry harder
>suddenly needs Riker's shoulder and hairy chest to sleep on

At least we got based Jellico to put that bitch in line.

>two moons

O'Brien is good enough to be a chief engineer of of his own station and he isn't even an officer.

Would get stranded in the Delta Quadrant in.

this faggot needs to be banned

I think the last episode featuring Neelix should have been the crew pushing him out an airlock. The federation is retarded, it's like "boy is he interesting" rather than "holy fuck he's annoying why do we keep him around? We have replicators and a crew that represents a massive portion of the galaxy cooking-wise but hey, let's have this ugly cat thing make piss soup."

The two eyes in the dark were on the other side.

Naw, Neelix turned into one of us.

I think what happened to his species was unbelievably fucked up and was a sort of: "what would happen if there was no Federation in your quadrant" situation. Talaxians are still a complete goddamn garbage party of Neelix is the poster boy.

He can't cook worth dick. Where was the "he burned down the galley" episode? It seemed extremely obvious that he was going to do it.

Neelix goes from jerk to GOAT over the 7 seasons.

As soon as Kess was gone his character improved immensely. He acted like anybody that even wanted to talk to her was trying to lay pipe in her ground mount.

well technically, Tom was pulling a bit of a crowbar move.
I, at least, thought it was suggested after Tom says he fell for her when they were in the shuttle training simulator.

stop this meme or start collecting evidences

...

As long as the EMH doctor gave me titanium lattice in the involved skeletal structure, would.

meant to post this but that works too

That episode where they were theoretically married, how the fuck did that even work?

Paris clearly wanted to deliver the dick but Ocampa apparently just join hands for hours on end to reproduce and then your demon span elf-eared fuck comes from somewhere near the lower spine.

If Trek writers had any sense they would establish the anatomy of alien species BEFORE they started writing about it. Then again, they were probably liberal arts majors that avoided a class that was so "difficult" or failed the fuck out of it.

I think you're failing to realize how long this thread has survived in spite of having so few posts.

Trek threads get necro'd but fuck, it's Sup Forums. It's not like somebody replied to a thread that somebody made two years ago or some shit.

>why was I so serious about a crazy Ocampan
>why did I care if Tom got a turn
>Klingons>Ocompans
>I'm a ambassador for an interplanetary federation to a quarter of the galaxy
>I play online games with the Borg

Come to think of it, I actually want to add to that.

Why the fuck don't Federation doctors promote human augmentation? They skirt the issue like hell and only crippled or disabled people get enhancements. Geordi has his enhanced eyes but won't give it up to have normal ones until they have the same features as his visor and ALSO the features of normal human eyes.

They abhor the idea of genetic modification but totally shrug off the idea of enhancing humans that are handicapped. Geordi's eyes are basically the same as looking at somebody in a wheelchair and going "fuck, maybe we should give this guy legs that allow him to climb a mountain in twenty minutes and jump twenty feet!"

It's fucking, stupid.

It was some wonky From death to life and back again.

Before and after? I know it established the Krenim race and set up the climax for the two parter.

And as for the Ocampa, I've gona over too many times. The Voyager writers botched the pilot and subsequently set the standard for future episodes with the Ocampa and Janeway's decision. I'll just stop there before I ramble because Voyager deserved better and it still turned out okay.
