Catalonia gets independent

>Catalonia gets independent
>Catalan league forms
>espanyol and Barça drive the league in Europa league and champions league
>gets foreign investors
>superstars play there to build up the league
>becomes one of the strongest leagues in Europe

Who's ready anons?

>Asco

>Prat

Absolutely no chance of that happening
More likely they try to join the french league, they stay with spanish league or the scatalan "league" becomes a shitheap killing barca

lel

>tfw Reus will play for Reus in your lifetime

Great feeling desu

Once Catalonia gets independence they'll try to get Roussillon. France won't give it up without a fight so Barça won't join the French league either

Reus is gonna retire with reus

They won't join a new league

Would be nice if it happened, new country new league but it would be a 10 team first division

Catalan independence was what Barça was all about up until Sandro rosell came in. Most of the Catalan players still believe in that, and independence would mean a new league

in reality ofc it wont happen, the independance wont happen in the first place

The Austrian league is only 10 teams but they're still better with leagues with more teams

A Catalan league would, over time, turn itself into the new Scottish Premiership: one team that constantly wins the league but fails miserably in the CL (Barcelona); one slightly better than mediocre team (Espanyol); and the rest of the league would be shit-tier semipro teams.

>Catalonia becomes independent
>New country, last in the ranking
>Barcellona starts from the first round of CL qualifiers next year

>Barcelona-Lincoln Red Imps rivalry forms
who do you back in the Balearic Battle this year la'

yeah but after 4-5 years Barcelona would have dragged up the coefficient so much that Espanyol get a Direct CL spot and the 3rd gets playoff. Another possibility is that the league doesnt start on 0 in the coefficient ranking but instead takes barcas past seasons coefficient points, when we take into account that U*FA might change the coefficient ranking span from 5 to 10 past seasons being counted this inherited coefficient point option is much better.

Tanks will roll into Barcelona before Cataluña becomes legally independent

Don't forget that at one time the Scottish league was actually pretty good. The Catalan league wouldn't be amazing at first but it will take time

For me it's reus

Considering the importance of Barça to UEFA they'd probably give Catalonia their own coefficient based on Catalan teams past performances. That would automatically place them in the top 20 in Europe

Iberian league with 4 champions

>Iberian champion whoever finishes 1st
>Spanish champion whoever finishes higher out of spanish teams, the same for Portuguese and Catalan teams

Pratical example:

Real Madrid
Barça
Benfica
Sevilla
Sporting
Porto
Valencia
etc

Real Madrid are both Spanish and Iberian champions, Barça are catalan champions and Benfica are Portuguese champions.

For european qualification only the overall iberian qualification counts. And for cups each play in their countries, like the existing cups like Taça de Portugal and Copa del Rey, and also an Iberian cup. And the meme current league cups that finish in january would be abolished since they are absolute shit.

It would become the best league in the world and would still be fairly local, no need for long plane journeys.

>tfw da Cornellà will win da UCL

No way Espanyol, Girona or Barcelona would join an independent Catalan league, even if it joined UEFA. Why lose so much La Liga money?

In 25 years maybe just dont jump the gun yet

Well Barça already has a massive following overseas so a lot of countries will kinda be forced to show the new Catalan league anyway

perfect, we should do that in the balkans too, invite bulgaria and greece, have 4 tiers and have at it

I thought Greece hates you guys?

Meh, they probably do.

>stop playing with lelbar, racing santander and other 20 shit teams
>star to play with another 20 literally who shit teams

Please do it, a league with croatians, albanians, serbs, bosnians, macedonians and greeks would be priceless

I think so too.

Could Work

Between the large numbers of fans locally, the worldwide fans of Barça, and foreign investors, the league might not be so bad

why would a team called REIAL cd ESPANYOL join the indipendent legue?
they're loyalist by definition

why do they then have the Y in EspanYol

Well, espanyol is spelled the Catalan way

It didn't used to be, they changed it due to butthurt
