First off, I don't see how speaking my mind openly and being truthful is me looking to "appear manly". If anything I'm the opposite, not playing a character and instead choosing to be myself in front of others and letting them judge me for what I really am. The word "appear" in this context refers to giving a certain impression or deceiving others on purpose. That is the opposite of what I'm doing because I have a healthy enough self-esteem not to feel pressured to present a certain appearance in the hopes that people would like me and instead letting them see me as I truly am. It sounds like you don't which is why you choose to alter the perception you give to people in hopes that they would like you more as something you truly aren't.

Secondly I don't annoy people. I don't go up to people and present them with opinions they don't want to hear. I don't keep preaching my world view to people if I clearly see they're not interested or demand them to listen. And when I do tell them something they don't agree with I don't do it with the goal of annoying them. I do it to promote healthy public discourse. Like I said I'm not the one to initiate political conversations at workplace, I only contribute when asked. Among friends I bring up political issues despite the fact that many of them disagree with me too, but they also appreciate me giving light to the other side of the issue not often voiced in the heavily leftist atmosphere in Finland. And if I see they're not interested in discussing a topic anymore I move on.

I heavily doubt that. I also obey the letter of the law most of the time, although I don't comply with our hate speech laws because I have a moral objection to them. It has never gotten me in trouble, probably because I know to choose my audiences and I don't go around giving out unwanted sermons.
