Gonzalez was a truly great fighter. To even become known on US television as a damn Flyweight, coming from Nicaragua of all places, he did incredible for himself and deserved every bit of credit he got. He may not have had as great a career as Alexis Arguello, but as his peak he may well have been better.
But to go out like that is just awful. Compare that to Klitschko, who goes out giving everything and is cheered out of a stadium. Chocolatio went out limp on the canvas, eyes glossed over, his wife screaming in the stands as HBO overlays the images with comments of 'he just doesn't have it anymore etc.'.
