-gov't spends too much on military and too little on education and other public services
-no free college (well, no great free college, at least)
-poor foreign language education and ingrained nationalism keeps people from leaving
-no paid maternity leave
-shitty healthcare
-generally poor social programs that are abused
-terrible drug laws
-general law enforcement problem (corruption, mass incarceration, private prisons, no good rehabilitation while in prison)
-wealth inequality
-pretty intense cultural divide
-imperial system

Pros of US:

-not going to get seriously fucked with by any other country
-If you grew up here you know english
-you have the potential to make more money than anyone would ever need and pay next to no taxes on it (individual pro, national con)
-easier to make it in acting or music
-technology sector
-good infrastructure
-don't need to leave the country to travel to a completely different climate/culture
-food and other essentials always available if you have the money
-if your family has money and your parents care about your success you're basically on track to live a successful and fulfilling life - you're not in danger, great education is available, and so are jobs (doesn't apply to me, but it's true)


I'll take the good with the bad until I work in a foreign country long enough to apply for citizenship. USA motherfuckers.

Sorry, I didn't word that too well. I think the highest income tax rate in the US is something like 40% (for comparison: I make $9.25/hr working part time, I'm a university student, and I have no children - I pay a 15% income tax). So legally, yes, you can be obligated to pay a lot of taxes, but most people with that much money know pretty well how to hide it or otherwise avoid paying taxes on it through legal loopholes or dirty business practices.

also a bit more to clarify - a lot of the people you see on Sup Forums are probably libertarian fucks who want all the benefits of a first world country (infrastructure, safety, education, health) without paying taxes. They're retarded.
