compiled by me

>USA 56 (Spanish)

good job at destroying germanic cultures buddies

The (language) is basically what their native language is or what they speak more than english.

I left out countries that nobody cares about, smell like poop, and/or are in africa. What I realized while making this is that spanish/portuguese speaking countries don't care about learning english, at all, with russia/bulgarian/hungarian/slovakia being tossed into the mix.

English came from Denmark.

well that must be why it's so easy for english speaker to learn.

it bums me out. learning those languages would have been cool

apparently USA was 95% english speaking

>espikin inglish

Stop speaking my language.

>implying anyone wants to speak swedish/norwegian - "talking with a dick in your mouth" edition

>wop complaining about destroying germanic culture

if anything you are more responsible for it due to how much of a useless and shitty ally you are

WE

you came from Somalia

old english > the shitty fr*nch post-1066 """"english"""" we speak today

I am the 5%.

stop acting like anyone even bothers learning your pointless fagluage

and nothing of value was lost

woah there's only 20 people in brazil?

>Israel 84.97%
Very nice desu.

wish we could range ban american poster to be honest

>Countries
>Puerto Rico

>>Russia 5.48 (russian)
you have to make it lower

>italian
i think he is serious

most south americans don't have money to travel to other countries so why bother
Spain is odd tho, where did u take these numbers from?

surprised its only 86 in Sweden. Literally every single person I met there spoke English and I ventured into fucking nowhere, Lappland. I guess the other 14 is old people

only Jutes came from what is today Denmark. Angles and Saxons both came from what is today Germany.

>>Russia 5.48 (russian)

If you exclude Moscow, Petersburg and other rich regions like West Sibeira and Far East, the percentage of English-speakers in Russia would be about 2-3%.

I'm the 95%

Oh that's terrible? Isn't USA english speaking country?

Tired of this meme.

If you actually read the history, Germany fucked Italy over big time. The Germans couldn't even respect the basic provision of the Pact of Steel. They were treacherous to the Italians, and Italy had every right to break things off

a large portion of the people here can't speak English, instead having Spanish as a first language. Spanish is an official language in some states.

>tfw from green region

If you're using the 2012 Eurobarometer source you have to include native speakers as well, these are the real figures from European Union countries in 2012

Belgium 52%
Bulgaria 25%
Czech Rep 28%
Denmark 87%
Germany 58%
Estonia 51%
Ireland 99%
Greece 52%
Spain 22%
France 40%
Italy 34%
Rep. of Cyprus 74%
Latvia 46%
Lithuania 38%
Luxembourg 58%
Hungary 20%
Malta 93%
Netherlands 91%
Austria 73%
Poland 35%
Portugal 28%
Romania 31%
Slovenia 59%
Slovak Rep 26%
Finland 71%
Sweden 88%
United Kingdom 98%
European Union 51%

A survey with pretty much the same Eurobarometer methodology carried in Mexico in 2013 threw out a figure of 11.6%, but is only for foreign language speakers, the 12.9% that you report refers to people that can speak a foreign language, not only English

where did you get the figure for Norway by the way?

>"austrian german"
So what?

I think he's claiming that there isn't a major difference between Austrian and German German.

I don't know how true that is though.

>Spain 22
>Italy 34
Wonder if that's serious. All people I know who have ever visited any or both of them told that they had huge troubles trying to find an English speaker there

The differences between what constitutes a language or a dialect aren't really clear. I just know that most Germans don't understand me, when I speak my dialect.

seems more factual

all the numbers seem surprisingly low to me

>Spain 22
Should be around 10%

Angles = Danes
Anglic = English
Mixed with dialects from Frisian

we speak half english half dutch these days
