I'm in my 30s, and what you younger fags don't realize is that what we're experiencing now is the nightmare scenario I feared 15 years ago. The shit has already hit the fan. You just don't know, because you've grown up with this shit. This isn't something that's going to happen. It's something that's already happened.
The only positive thing I can say is that nationalism and anti-immigration are becoming much more prevalent among Europeans and Americans alike, and hopefully this will have an effect in the coming years, and possibly reverse or slow down this living nightmare.
I knew what flew in school and in public and what I heard adults say. I remember the opinions of my cousins (who were in their 20s and 30s) and aunts and uncles, and I remember what my friends' parents would say. People looked at gay marriage like it was an abomination, and a lot of people were openly hostile to any amount of flamboyantly gay behavior. But go on, Australia, tell me what was acceptable in the US back then.
