BEST ALBUM EACH YEAR OF THE DECADE

...

Damn kid besides MBDTF and TPAB this is so wrong...

Feel free to share yours user

mbdtf, yeezus, tpab, and blonde is right, though kind of /nu/ and trendy and flavour of the monthy

American Dream

Ok
>2011
Bon Iver, Bon Iver - Bon Iver
>2012
Lonerism - Tame Impala
>2013
Random Acces Memories - Daft Punk
>2014
Lost in the Dream - The War on Drugs
>2016
A Moon Shaped Pool - Radiohead
>2017
Science Fiction - Brand New

Science Fiction is my choice for 2017 as well, although I couldn't agree less with Lonerism when Good Kid Mad City and Money Store came out same year

this is lame as fuck son

this is bad

I like all of these, but weak picks for album of the year

Well that's your opinion
I like GKMC too but i think Lonerism beats it, and inever get the Death Grips appeal
i don't give a fuck is my fucking opinion

...

...

Yeah I get it, got any recs for bands like Brand New? More Deja Entendeau era but anything really similiar would be appreciated

I love Kanye but Yeezus is mediocre at best, i don't know why this board likes it so much.

Well faggots post your fucking aoty picks then

it sounds like Death Grips

pitiless censors isn't from 2012
it's the best thing in this image though

Neutered Death Grips maybe

these aren't bad but jesus this reads like a pitchfork list (if lacey was never accused)

Not personal, just what I think had an impact and will be remembered

Nah, you already have "but that's shit!!" in the chamber no matter what I say. Do you burst into flames if you deviate even slightly from the Pitchfork hivemind? Looks that way.

...

Personally, and what I will shill. Perhaps switch out tricot - AND for Pretend - Tapestry'd Life, or Shishamo - s/t 3 for The Novembers - Hallelujah, but eh, I think these win out in the end.

fixed it

You seem depressed but pretty good list, I like your taste

No faggot, post the fucking shit that you want
Just leave me alone

These lists are just as bad as OPs

nah, mines much better but 2010 and 2014 are tough years

...

angery

Science Fiction > Devil and God > Deja = Daisy > YFW

solid except you picked the worst saturation

Well here's mine
2010: Plastic Beach

2015: To Pimp a Butterfly
2016: Teens of Denial
2017: FORGET
2018 (currently): Twin Fantasy

Also, Blonde is so fuckin overrated. The second half sucks shit from a straw.

...

>Unambitious and extremely overrated glitch pop
>Best of 2011

pfffff eccojams are you mad

>Unambitious
Can you back that statement up please? I don't know what you mean.

...

It's just a plain old glitch pop album with a small art rock influence. Hell,it's not even ambitious by Radiohead standards. Most of the songs sounds like b-sides from a Yorke solo record that were done half-assedly

science fiction = devil and god = daisy >>> deja >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> what first album?

What would you consider a more ambitious, important and impactful album from 2011?

these are mine so far, 2017 for me was between forest swords and Alvvays and maybe Saturation II

>2010
Gil Scott Heron - I'm New Here
>2011
Radiohead - The King Of Limbs
>2012
Swans - The Seer
>2013
Young Fathers - Tape Two

Goddamn my taste is poppy

From Silence to Somewhere is very nice

This guy's first sentence is incredibly true, which is why I never respond to "show me YOUR picks then!!1" people, even if asking to see the picks of people who rag on my picks is also something I always want to do just out of curiosity, since I may have never heard them and would like to. But I never ask since 3/4 of the time I'll also get the response that I'll just instantly call it shit, which, again, is a valid point in most cases.

lul the lcd pick

Throw in the money store and to be kind and you got it right

well i guess that my favs are memes

...

Here's what I've got for the decade so far, with two 2018 albums I've heard so far being tied for my favorite so far as the last last ones. Got to find time for a fresh listen to them both.
Pick apart my picks and call me a fag, ideally with recs from the years you think I had a shit pick, bearing in mind that I didn't truly start hunting down new releases and fully coming to my own conclusions until 2016/2017, when I got Apple Music, which helped a ton with keeping up with new music without relying on review sites, so I don't have many albums in previous years to decide between up 'til then (though I'd like to give runner-up for 2013 to I See Seaweed by the Drones but I love Messe too much and didn't want the same exact artist twice).

Can only really get behind the John Maus, but I haven't heard whatever Panda Bear thing that is.

Not even reading the replies to this, because I'm guessing half are hating on Lonerism which, idc if people pile on the hate train for it, is a really very good album. Haven't heard any others of yours though.

Yours is made up almost entirely of albums I've been meaning to listen to (haven't heard any of them), aside from bottom that Toe album (I heard their 2015 album and remember liking it so I'll check that out), whatever Tigran Hamsyan - Mockroot is, and whoever Norman Westberg is.

Heard none, only interested at all in To Be Kind honestly.

++Loud City Song and Apocalypse girl
+Let England Shake
Once again, heard none of the others.

No clue on a single one of these, but they look neat, so I'll save this to look them up later.

++Hadestown! Big fan of that one -- almost went with that for my pick that year. Also need to hear the WU LYF album badly. Just the cover art makes me curious.

Haven't heard a single one. Been wanting to listen to more Ariel Pink though.

Curious about the second one and the album after Virgins. ++Narkopop!

listen to The Seer right now

>L-LE TAME IMPALA IS REDDIT!!!

Shit yeah, been meaning to listen to that as well (or, at the risk of embarrassing myself, any Swans album, though the new iteration of the group interests me more based on what I hear of it -- not that that's a good way to judge).

Generic as fuck taste I know but it's the truth

looks like you made a mistake user. three of those artists aren't black. try reconsidering those choices

...

What he said. You're not some sort of racist are you, ?

Science Fiction is a bad album
2014 would probably be More Than Any Other Day if I wasn't trying to avoid repeat artists

You guys seem cool
Would hang out with
Also why the fuck do so many of these look exactly the same lmao you know you're not gonna get banned for posting a chart without Kanye or Death Grips right

>That Ought album
FUCK yeah dude

Dude I'm so glad someone else appreciates it
It's easily my favorite thing they've done, it's got a lot of nifty guitar work plus some of Tim's best vocals ever and some of the coolest use of electronics I've ever heard in a post-punk album. Like holy shit.

It seems like it's getting a really lukewarm reaction so far, it's by far their lowest-rated album on RYM and all the bad reviews just say it's unoriginal without giving any reasons why or they just say they hate his voice. It really bothers me. I think it's gonna be one of the strongest releases of the year, easily.

People all over the board have been creaming their jeans over it since it leaked.

It's not awful.

TKOL is a surprising pick. Some good choices here though.

Didn't care for Doris much save for 2 songs. Blond I need to relisten to. 4Eva really surprised me with how good it was.

You seem like you're a chill dude and I like you.

>You're Dead
I like you.

It's good to see so many people agree that GKMC was A fantastic album.

I REALLY like this one.

Here's a reply you lonely bastard.
Is the Saturation series worth listening to?

Did you really need three Death Grips albums in a row?

OH NO NO NO NO
*breathes in*
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

yikes that taste

2010 - Kanye West - MBDTF
2011 - Danny Brown - XXX
2012 - Death Grips - The Money Store
2013 - Armand Hammer - Race Music
2014 - Death Grips - Niggas on the Moon
2015 - Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
2016 - A Tribe Called Quest - We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service
2017 - Jonwayne - Rap Album Two

Wow dickride kanye and kendrick some more you fucking loser

huh... 20/20 experience even that good?

Yes, it is.
I almost put 'complete experience' but retrospectively I don't love the whole series as much as I love just the first half.

Jesus. Jeeeeeesus CHRIST.

norman westberg is the guitarist for swans and tigran hamasyan is a jazz pianist.

>2010

Fuck off with your "I want to be into 'lesser known' 'indie' music while still listening to top 40" shit.

thats a great album you faggot and nothing from Congratulations was in the top 40, normies hated it

literally meme-rap: the list

still pretty good picks though

It's the Stone Cold Lock Udda Century, Udda Week

sad list

>#2 on the Billboard 200, #4 in the UK and Canada, top 20 in plenty of other countries
I think it did just fine with normies, which makes sense because they're such a massively normie band.

>metá metá
fucking brazilians shitting up my Sup Forums

Joanna Newsom - Have one on me

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy

Mount Eerie - Clear Moon

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City

Car Seat Headrest - How to Leave Town

To Pimp a Butterfly

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool

Angelo Badalamenti - Twin Peaks Soundtrack

I'm not going to check, but I suspect that if I look at the #1 album for each year on RYM, I'll see the exact same list.

Post your chart tough guy
I love seeing threads like this where everyone gets really shitty about other peoples' taste and probably think they're above the rest of this board even though they get all their music from the same place and just happen to instead pick albums that are barely more "experimental" or "niche" than fucking Kendrick or Kanye
