It doesn't make any significant mention of drugs.

>"It's 'dude drugs lmao' for 42 minutes."
>OP literally has not listened to DSoTM and bases his opinion of it off the stoner hipster chicks who love it
>OP is most likely

Not floyd's best though

No, it isn't. But there's an ocean between that and OP's dumbfuckery.

This

what do people think is floyd's best? I'm sure Sup Forums is a bunch of assmad barrettfags lmao

Meddle

Piper is Pink Floyd's only good album

Animals / The Wall

But it is. Only contrarian faggots disagree

One of These Days and Echoes are incredible but everything in between them is pretty unremarkable

every track on Dark Side is a hit

this but unironically

Animals, Wish You Were Here, or Meddle

Animals for me

What kind of music do you listen to OP?

what's wrong with drugs? They make music sound better

That's missing the point. It's their biggest album, so in a way it's like the ambassador for the entirety of rock music, especially the more cerebral side of the genre. It's the quintessential gateway for people who have never been properly introduced to this shit in their entire lives. You're looking at it from a much too jaded/edgy perspective to appreciate the experience of hearing this, FRESH. Imagine being a know-nothing teenager, looking for something beyond Linkin Park and Lil Wayne, coming across this, and having it CLICK on the first playthrough. And the reason that can happen is BECAUSE it's straightforward and accessible enough for that, it was designed that way. So for the first time ever, music is telling you deep truths (relative) about the nature of humanity and society and time and life. For the first time, you're learning that music can have that power, and that there's that kind of wisdom to be gleaned from a small collection of songs. Consider the popularity of the record, and consider how many people, daily, are reaching that conclusion for the first time, listening to Dark Side. Of course it's going to be popular forever.

Most the best albums made are "dude drugs". Go listen to christian rock if you don't like it.

Here's my top 10 at the moment.

lool

>extremely basic Sup Forumscore

Complete Newfag

Most of their albums are easy to get into. Dark Side constitutes the gateway for people, as you say, only because it is more commonly known. That isn't sufficient to call it their best. Wish You Were Here for me has even more lasting power.

thissssss
pet sounds was made by brian wilson right after he discovered acid and pot and to this day he says that drugs inspired him creatively

Wish You Were Here is easily better than Dark Side of the Moon. Shine on Crazy Diamond by itself alone is better than anything in that album.

Which Pink Floyd album did you listen to and/or “get into” first?

Animals, WYWH

I'd say The Wall is probably most accessible, although it's long with lots of filler tracks, it has a lot of short poppier songs that aren't quite as spacey as some of the others.

far away across the field
the tolling on the iron bell
calls the faithful to their knees
to hear the softly spoken magic spell

I want to die to that part of Time. Just as soon as it ends I die.

It's second-best behind Piper

Time is the best song on the album for sure

Is this a YouTube comment?

No this is a series of tubes.

So The Wall is the album that got you into Pink Floyd?

heard someone say today:
bruh i was trippin listening to dark side of the moon like bruh it was intense

This is the first time I've ever seen someone explain away another's dislike of Animals using politics.

The thing is, I know you gods among men exist, but you never post your own lists.

Finally got around to listening to it.

Underwhelmed - it felt derivative as all hell . . . But that's pretty ironic, that's not really possible

Hot take: Relics > Piper

Just because I enjoy animals doesnt mean I dislike the other stuff

We already agreed on this:

Meddle > Animals > Wish You Were Here > Saucerful of Secrets > Dark Side of the Moon > Atom Heart Mother > Ummagumma > Obscured by Clouds > The Wall > Piper > *

It would be a waste of time to post mine because it's the same as yours desu

where's La Carerra Panamericana soundtrack

lmao you have AHM over Meddle, Dark Side, and Animals. Eat a dick hipister contrarian.

otherwise its a pretty good list
mine would be
Animals>Wall>WYWH>DSOTM>Piper>Meddle>atom heart>Final cut> Saucerful of secrets>Division Bell> the rest

No.

Time is a pretty okay song but other than that its all overrated imo

You mean Comfortably Numb.

>chipped nail polish
2/10
would not fuck

Animals

Listening to Dogs and Pigs back to back at the roger waters show recently was fucking surreal. So much energy and the visuals were phenominal. The fucking giant pig flying around was the least interesting thing going on. How can people like not like Animals?

>How can people like not like Animals?

I don't know and I don't care. Their opinion has no relevancy to me. One of the few albums that I'd give a 10/10 to.

MONEY

A little context

youtu.be/QWLBtMz5OuY

Puerile political commentary and bombastic cheese (Waters' favorite tropes) are not compelling.

>those visuals
Holy mother of cringe.

it's pretty cool that it syncs with The Wizard of Oz though

Listen to this on acid and you'll find out

It's only "Dude drugs LMAO" if one listens to the music, and not the lyrics.

The lyrical content is the reason I HATE DSOTM and every album that followed it.

This has got to be the most DEPRESSING piece of shit to ever be released.
