You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of Jedi Master

You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of Jedi Master

Replace him with Obama and put the caption "You are in the White House, but we do not grant you the rank of POTUS."

It's because his orange jailbait defected, isn't it?

What a tease

Why didn't they just give them the tank of Master. What's the big deal anyway? Is Master really that prestigious? Seems like there were a lot of Jedi Masters at the time. Plus, I mean it's all just a ruse to have him spy on Sheev anyway right?

isn't being on the Jedi Council more prestigious than being a Master? Like aren't there hundreds of Masters around the galaxy doing the real work of the Jedi?

It's like saying "sure you're qualified enough to be.chancellor of the university, but we're not giving you your degree yet"

...

it would set the precedent of the chancellor being able to dictate and award Master rank to any Jedi he feels like

The council only met him halfway because they wanted Anakin to spy. Funny thing is they should've fully committed to the ruse or not even bothered

They didn't think he was qualified to sit on the Council though, Palpatine basically forced Anakin onto it so he'd have a mole. Which is kind of bullshit when you consider how heroic he was during the Clone Wars.

It's sad that the cartoons actually turn him into the Anakin that Obi-wan remembers while Lucas completely missed it.

(OP) #
>"But Master Windu, do you not remember that I was training a Padawan, Ahsoka Tano quite successfully? Have you not seen what I've done during the Clone Wars?"

...

Why did everyone in ROTS seem to forget about Ahsoka and most of the events during the Clone Wars?

She would have left by then, and Anakin seen as a failure.

>muh fanfiction wankfest

The Clone Wars was fun but it really fucks up the more to be honest. They should have stick with the original animation.

Probably the same reason Qui-Gon wasn't on the council: He was constantly butting heads with the council and basically followed his own set of rules when it came to what he could and couldn't do.

>more
lore*

if they don't make him a Jedi Master, he will feel resentment towards the council and thus fuel the plot point of him being seduced by the dark side and Palpatine.

>Why did everyone in ROTS seem to forget about Ahsoka and most of the events during the Clone Wars?

She left the jedi order, so they don't want to talk about it. The fact that she left means Anakin wasn't successful and couldn't be given the rank of master in this scene.

Because the cartoon IS NOT CANON

>tfw the Clone Wars finally explain what Obi-Wan meant by "a good friend"

The 3D clone wars cartoon is canon.

Thinking on it, assigning Anakin his own padawan is rash, but they probably needed to fill out the Jedi ranks.

Time for Revenge of the Sith, special edition, with ADR added in talking about Ahsoka.

Yes it is? So why do they seem to forget the events of the Clone Wars in ROTS?

he wasnt ready. this is obvious; hes arrogant, hot headed, and we see he betrays the jedi and is seduced by the darkside. Windu almost trusted him for telling him palpatine was the dark lord but anakin fucked it up

...

how does he even get a padawan if he's not a master? The master-apprentice relationship is simple as fuck
>start off as an apprentice, learn how shit works
>become a master
>get your own apprentice so you can teach them how shit works

there isn't any scenario that's
>sort of half-learn how shit works, then get your own apprentice to teach them the shit you still haven't figured out

anakin is "that kid"

she was actually the master they just didnt tell anakin.

because its a shitty childrens show

Wasn't Obi-wan only a Jedi Knight at the end of Phantom Menace when he took Anakin as his apprentice?

It's a kids movie franchise though

Basically the council was arrogant and didn't know how to handle him. Obi-Wan tried to have his back but nobody else did.

The council thought he was the obvious political spy by the council. That is exactly what palpatine wanted. He wanted the Jedi council to feel threatened and the tension to build.

Fuck off. You don't need the cartoon to understand their relationship. Attack of the Clones and the beginning of Revenge of the Sith shows that these two are brothers. The clips I've seen, everything they do with Anakin is bullshit and misses out on the real reason he turns in Episode 3. It's because of the visions of padme dying.

There's an inbetween rank of Jedi Knight, which what most Jedi are. Basically, Anakin got his Bachelor's Degree at some point after Attack of the Clones, but he never got his Master's because he was always too reckless and emotional.

>Attack of the Clones and the beginning of Revenge of the Sith shows that these two are brothers.

No they don't, they consistently portray Anakin as a whiny little bitch constantly at odds with his master. Mostly thanks to the shitty acting.

That's exactly why

Anakin's apprentice was accused of using the force to murder someone, he broke the law and the jedi code to prove her innocence and she then left the fucking order

Anakin can't be trusted with anything, fuck making him a master

Youngling - taken as a baby from your family and home to the Scientology Centre on Coruscant, trained and buggered by elderly aliens in the ways of the Force and appropriate justification for murder by lightsaber

Padawan - Selected by a Jedi Knight to be their personal fucktoy taught 1-to-1 in more advanced force techniques and practical applications of keeping the peace through lightsaber murder. Call your pimp-daddy "master" as a sign of respect, but they are not a capital m Master.

Knight - Get too old, pimp-daddy wants a new apprentice (one much younger and more powerful) so you go through the Jedi trials or you can prove some equivalent experience such as killing Darth Maul. Get made a Knight, you now have access to the adult section of the Jedi library and can select your own kidnapped orphan to train and bugger as you were once trained and buggered.

Master - Having successfully trained at least one Padawan all the way to Knighthood and shown extreme skill in the ways of the Force and peaceful lightsaber murder, you are given the ultimate accolade of Master and can now stay at the Scientology temple full time, doing whatever the fuck you want and banging groups of Younglings at your leisure. If you tickle Yoda's shrivelled 900 year old prostate he'll give you a seat on the Jedi Council too so you can feel important even though he and Windu are the ones who make all the decisions.

>Fuck off. You don't need the cartoon to understand their relationship. Attack of the Clones and the beginning of Revenge of the Sith shows that these two are brothers. They do that relationship ok, but movie-only Anakin is a prick. They tell us he's well liked and his marriage to Padme isn't really fucking obvious. But tell =/= show

qui gon died before they decided obi wan was ready.

anakin gets taught against their wishes.

>no the real reason is they dont trust anakin because of some waifu cartoon.

They did decide Obi-Wan was ready, they made him a Jedi Knight after the Naboo clusterfuck

GET OUT REEEEEEE

Which part was inaccurate?

>there are like 12 Jedi """""Masters"""""" on the special snowflake council
>can't use the Force tell if a fellow Jedi is a spy or not
>can't use the Force to see who else can use the Force
>can't even use the Force much at all because of a single Sith "fogging" their mind

They deserved the euthanasia they got.

You underestimate Sheev's power. He used to take Maul on guided tours of the Jedi Temple and get off on how the Jedi couldn't detect them as Sith

Also that was the Grand Council who live in the central tower. There were 4 other councils of junior masters in each of the other towers

This user is right. Part of Maul's teachings was basically learning the identities of every member of the Jedi order and he met several semi-face-to-face.
