HOLY SHIT ITS SO MUCH BETTER

HOLY SHIT ITS SO MUCH BETTER

this album is a real grower 2bh
biggest GROWER in memory

fuck off Will

2011: 8/10
2018: 5/10
you ruined it will

I wanna punch you in the face so bad

the people that don't like this are the people that will get offended over every single thing. like this post.

>like this post
>muh reading comprehension

i can't believe we let will spam his music to relelvance and now he's getting bnms and playing late night talk shows
we could've stopped this and we didn't

It's objectively better than the original in every way. Lofi faggots need to kill themselves. Granted, once they graduate college and turn into adults they'll realize how terrible the 2011 version is.

>we could've stopped this and we didn't
why would we want to, his music is good

Songs are better but the album as a whole feels a little less cohesive to me. New version loses bits of the story

The only song which is a 100% improvement is Bodys. The new Prophets is worth keeping. The rest are inferior to the original versions. The new Beach Life In Death is a lot worse, the original's raw sound was way more engaging. I love lo-fi music though.

i've been living under a rock and listened to this for the first time the other day, now i'm addicted. i can't see how people were so hooked over the original recording though, its greatness doesn't really emerge as it does in the rerecording. maybe it's just because i heard the 2018 one first i don't know

The new vocal performance is so much weaker

I only recently listened to this album for the first time and I fucking loved it, should I check the original?

you should check it out just to know what it's like, but imo the rerecording is so much better that you won't really find yourself coming back to the old one. that's the way it is for me at least, i like lo fi but it's too lo fi to the point where it ruins the experience

the remastered ending to Sober to Death ruined it :(

So Will made this whiny ass and somewhat pretentious record in 2011 and it was great. It wasn't super clever or anything but it felt like a genuine emotional album from some loser with a laptop. I really don't see the appeal for a more polished version of that. It's not even about the Lo-Fi, it's just that the new one feels like a relaxed Will retelling you a story from his teen years over a beer while the old one actually IS Will going through it and dealing with it. It has lost so much emotional power and charm.

opinions:

new Beach Life in Death is mostly better but the "way too scared to do shit" part is mixed too low. detracts from how jarring it was.

cute thing, bodys, high to death are massively improved

nervous young inhumans loses all its punch without the original monologue.

overall it's an improvement. idk if i'll be able to listen to the original anymore because of the superior recording in the new version but it does feel like it's missing something

1000% agree

Every conversation just ends with you screaming
Not even words, just ahh-ahh-ahh. This song gives me goosebumps every time, and I'm addicted. It's definitely better in most ways.

SO WHEN THE MIRROR BREAKS

>commercialising a passion project
You have no self-respect or integrity whatsoever, Will.
