Why aren't there any hip-hop albums?

Why aren't there any hip-hop albums?

big think

what like eminem?

Because those are supposed to be the best albums of all time, and hip hop can not be compared with the rest of music.

cuz snowflakes afraid of new rock'n'roll ya know!

because older generations still have a larger voice than the newer ones when it comes to deciding that stuff

Name a hip hop album better than any of those twelve albums

Where's the music concrete?

>College Dropout
>Late Registration
>Enter The Wu-Tang
>Liquid Swords
>It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back
>Fear of a Black Planet
>Ridin' Dirty
>Return to the 36 Chambers
I could be here all day

Except it's literally the opposite on the internet

Without saying Illmatic or Madvillany, keep going.

Holy shit the Sup Forumscore really is bad. There are better alternatives to all of those albums. Also
>TWO FUCKING BEATLES & PINK FLOYD ALBUMS
Whoever made this needs to be shot
These are all shit my dude.

What albums do you like ya contrarian?

Not him but
>Quasimoto - The Unseen
>Danny Brown - XXX

Maybe you should take that as a sign to grow the Fuck up

number one - DAY69

I don't think hip-hop heads use websites like that one.

>not recognizing the rym top 12 when you see it
get out

Illmatic, 36 Chambers, and MBDTF are all far batter than anything by Radiohead or Led Zeppelin

But seriously, why is Kind of Blue on there? It's not even one of the best Miles albums.

What you consider his best ?

Not him but In a Silent Way is GOAT.

It's undoubtedly the most acclaimed Jazz Album ever. It's Miles Davis' most influential release.

Tbh I've been listening to Little -Evil a lot lately. But Bitches Brew is probably GOAT.
>hurrr most acclaimed = good
kys i bet you think the Beatles i the best band ever

you need to be older than 18 to post here

>Whoever made this

Influence does not mean anything

>most acclaimed jazz album
But what does A Love Supreme have to do with any of this?

it's mostly the weight of vote count on rating
if 36 Chambers or illmatic had 2x their vote count theyd prolly be up there

there is not a single good album in that picture except for the miles davis one

Jury's in, kill yourself my man.

...

I get it, it's some chart from a site. Sorry, jesus christ

Never understood the hype with Radiohead. Pleasant enough, can definitely see them in the 3-figure all time, but not number one.

Once you get into like top 10 territory it's all subjective.

Bet
>Reasonable Doubt
>Midnight Marauders
>Rodeo
>Good Kid Ma.a.d City
>Doggystyle

>2/3 of them are by British bands
What did RYM mean by this?

True, except that older anything will always be more revered than something newer.

You're a moron.

...

Does that make you feel good?

>Seriously, why is one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful Jazz album this high up
How is it hard to grasp this concept? Did you forget how many ratings an album has is the biggest boost you can get?

lmao, point and laugh at him.

Yes, you're still a moron.

...

Nation of Millions and the first Wu album are the only contenders there lol. Add in Illmatic, Paul's Boutique, and MAYBE TPAB, MBDTF, Madvillainy, and Low End Theory. Only hip hop albums that should be in consideration.

>Questioning why a really popular and loved album is high on a chart full of really popular and loved album

...

The answer is time. Hip-hop has not been around as long as rock or jazz has, hence why people are still accepting it as a serious form of art. Also, think about its nature: a lot of hip-hop focuses on banal themes like sex, money, and drugs without delving into serious topics or demonstrating some kind of irony with the themes aforementioned. I gander that these stereotypes against hip-hop keep its true masterpieces from being exalted into the heights of albums made by, say, Radiohead or Bob Dylan. It takes awareness and people listening to acclaimed albums by artists like West, Lamar, and MF Doom to understand how profound, abstract, and meaningful hip-hop can be when expressed properly.

...

>whoever made this
>all these hip-hop classics suck cause xD?
At least it's funny bait

...

...

...

>two stupids compete to see which one has more stupid memes than the other

bugger off, buddy

...

Only good posts on this board, right now.

Is this accurate?

no.

1. TPAB
2. Madvillainy
3. Illmatic
4. 36 Chambers
5. MBDTF

There are some decent albums in OPs post although personally
> Animals > both those Pink Floyd albums
> Bitches Brew/In a Silent Way > Kind of Blue. > Houses of the Holy > IV.

I've just heard most of those albums a bit much (exception being Loveless and both the Radiohead albums which are alright but not really my thing).

As for hip-hop albums which I prefer to the albums in OP's post:
> Supreme Clientele
> PiƱata
> ATLiens and Aquemini
> Homebrew, @peace and El Sol
> Lost
> Champion Sound
> Food and Liquor
> The Ziggurat
> Saturation trio
> Bonus mixtapes: The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs, Stolen Youth & Faces

And just because there's too many options for this fan boy:
>80% of the things made by papa West and that villain from the fantastic four.

There is no way for every genre to be represented in the top 12, there are more than 12 genres of music

This except Madvilliany behind illmatic

>MBDTF
Oh no no no no.

Because most people on RYM are hipster faggots who only listen to indie.

No order
>Madvillainy
>36 Chambers
>Graduation
>Liquid Swords
>The Marshall Mathers LP
>Doris
>ATLiens
>First Come First Served
>TPAB
>Saturation II
