I want sad albums. Maybe not sad, but an album I can listen to in my bed at night as I think about better times. I don't want albums if there are lyrics and vocals, I want purely music and no vocals. Vocals are too personal for me to ever mope satisfactorily to albums filled with them. So give me soothing, relaxing, melancholic albums with no vocals. A good example of what I'm after is pic related, but any genre is welcome as long as it's a great nighttime listen

My go-to, can't sleep even though its incredibly late album
Remember - ルートバックホーム (in the same vein as 2814)
Disconscious - Hologram Plaza (mallsoft)
OP here
Minecrafts all well and good but I want something a little more obscure
This is good stuff, thanks

lovesliescrushing - xuvetyn
good god this sounds like shit
If you like 2814, check out telepath's stuff (1/2 of the project). Here's my favorite from him that fits the vibe you're looking for:

not an album but this song has that feel man.
Frank ocean, blond
Best for remembering better times
Came here to post this
OP here, you're correct and that's a fantastic album but I don't want vocals. His lyrics will only make me think of specific things, when I'm really looking for mood music through which I can vent any melancholic emotion I want
Pretty chill but I'm not really looking for 24/7 chill lofi beats
>no vocals

It's the instrumental for Something About Us by Daft Punk. I would find a Higher Quality one but youtube won't stop with them copyright strikes so i guess this will have to do. Just tab over because it's just intestella 5555 footage over the instrumental.

you're welcome. One of my favorite releases of 2018 so far.

Might not be exactly what you're looking for but it definitely came to mind.
guuuuvl upi
>something about us
approved. the instrumental is also amazing
...
>i want an album with no vocals
yes, Rain Tempe is really bad
delete that shit
Nils Frahm - All Melody
Or any other Frahm
A Sup Forumstant posted this. It's a two song EP of instrumental electronic downtempo stuff, no vocals (some quotes or ooooohs here and there) and its all about, well, sad shit. one song is like 38 minutes. You can leave it on and watch a movie in your head starring user (as he gets torn in two by a broken girl), and it all has a very blade runner meets experimental maximalist trip hop kind of feel.
It's free. You described it to a T, OP.
Riceboy Sleeps by Jonsi & Alex
Listen to eno's ambient works, really great for going to sleep to (no disrespect)
sometimes i like to lean over my sofa while brian eno - becalmed is playing in the background :/
Delet yrself
...
honestly I love rain temple. it was the album that got me into 2814
...
Could it be a anything else?
this is not soothing or relaxing
What you are describing, OP, reminds me a lot of what Yo La Tengo does for me.

Just get pic related and listen to it calmly in your bed or maybe on the way home after college/work. You might not love it the first time but I'm sure it'll make you react in some way.

beware 1.39 will F your ears if you have it loud on headphones
Portishead (might) be what you're looking for too
well shit, you said no vocals.
Hex is pretty minute with them though.
...
>le mega deep dark dope post rock epics xD
>
that's everything but comfy in my honest opinion
...
Has a vocal part, but not much of one for a 25-minute song.
holy shit how did i not know of this album
One of the best Vaporwave albums out there.
Red Light District by VHS is also pretty good.
BTW, t e l e p a t h is way better than HKE
Not really much more obscure, but still great.
so much bad taste
"Life's Not Out To Get You" by Neck Deep
>pop punk
You're not getting the point, retard.
Tim Hecker
reallly liking all 3 of these, cheers m8.
