For the /christian/s:
Is cursing, cussing, etc, against the bible? I know g-d is but the rest? And is it different if you are not insulting someone; example: "I fucking hate jews?"

This is the verse for g-d:
Exodus 20:7, Deuteronomy 5:11 – You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

Bump

Jesus Christ was a worthless piece of shit and died like a bitch

*tips sombrero

Course it is bitchnigga Christ be with you.

>get wasted
>unbaptized heathen
>email an orthodox priest about wanting to become christian
>he responds when i'm sober
>so much hangover guilt
>he wants to go for coffee
FUCK. I have no social skills whatsoever. Was planning on just ignoring the sacraments and studying on my own. What to do? Ignore the email? Or take this chance to get salvation?

GO. Its easy to talk to priests because they do not care about social skills because they are kinda like psychologists. Tell them whatever you like.

I think it's okay to say fuck and shit as long as you say it in private, among men. But never say "jesus christ" or "god damnit". But avoid swearing in front of women and children.

Thanks, I guess I'll go for it.

Yeah thats what i was guessing. I was just wondering mainly if it was in the bible. Also, if youre too worried about meeting up with the priest just say so and keep emailing

He's an archpriest. Do I have to kiss his hand or something?

Yeah. Pussy Ned Flanders Christianity is a modern phenomenon. Swear like a sailor.

Steal his magic staff

CHRIST WILL BE MY SERVANT

My beard is as long as his. Do you think he will respect that?

It's not. Only saying the lord's name in vain is, as far as I know.

A guide to becoming orthodox christian.

truth

Christians in fringe (by the standards of normal folk) boards like this, tend to label their cussing and cursing as "defending the faith" how do you get good christianboypoints by insults is beyond me.

But I believe most of them live in repressed households and had to act very very "pure" almost to a robotic level, only in interwebz they can blow off some steam. Take a look at cripplechans christian board for proofs.

I grew up in protestant household but was a complete fedoratard atheist from the age of 10 years old.

I blame not being brought up in the right church and never being baptized for it.

Where are all the christians? Most threads like this are very popular.

Who's your patron saint, Sup Forums?

St. Michael the Archangel!

>kiss his hand
Lol

I stopped swearing because it was becoming a detriment to my vocabulary and harming my conversations.

Got into a lot less arguments and fights.

...

>St. Michael the Archangel
Why do you seek the guidance of a meme saint?

Bes pope is bes

You are foolish the word "God" isn't against the Bible. YHVH is.

So does that mean it is unforgivable? I have only been a christian for a few years and I know I said the word God in other uses than worship. Am I fucked?

I identified with St. Dymphna, but I realized that for confirmation it has to be a male name, because I'm male, so I picked my second favorite, St. Michael.

Am I wrong?

I have schizophrenia and asking for her intercession has helped me a lot. My neighbors stopped saying bad things about me and things like that. Now I'm realizing maybe I imagined those insults.

Doesn't that mean the same thing though? I thought that was just the yiddish word for it.

>St. Dymphna
qt

I think it means "Call on Me all you want, but this problem is your fault"

i think it's sort of grey.
>But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. (Colossians 3:8)
>Abusive speech (aischrologia) means filthy, disgraceful, dishonorable speech.

whether or not there's a clear prohibition against using filthy language isn't the grey part, it's what's to be considered filthy that's grey to me, because whether or not something is obscene is subjective to the individual.
i think we should avoid it, so that our testimony isn't dirtied in the eyes of those who would take offense. but i wouldn't consider someone a hellbound unrepentant reprobate for saying 'bitch.'

Is drinking a sin? I don't seem to do anything sinful when drinking since I became a christian, but I thought I should ask. I used to do sinful things like watch pornography but I no longer do that.
