They played against generally weak college competition in offensive systems tailor made to air it out as much as possible. As a result, the quarterbacks were largely unprepared for NFL level play

Football players depending on position can greatly improve their draft stock playing 4 years. QBs in NFL style offenses are seen as more ready, thus will get drafted higher. Running backs meanwhile risk a year of injury, as do top basketball players
