Sup guys, I have a lot of guitars and stuff

ugly

fuck off, we here dont like that shit

Beginner here, is it considered a problem if the high E doesn't ring out for an A chord? You still have the E from the 4th string.

yes

Why?

>he thinks the wood a fret-board is made of makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the wood the neck is made of makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the wood the body is made of makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the bolt-on vs set neck vs neck through makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the pickups makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the scale length makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the amp makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the strings makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the nut makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the bridge makes a difference in sound

Literally all guitars and amps sound exactly the same and every difference is cosmetic.
>b-but single coils have more high end than humbuckers!!!! a vox has more treble than a marshall!! I need an orange or a peavy or a mesa boogie to play metal!!!
Nice job falling for the guitar industry snake oil pitches loser!

i almost bought something similar the other day. electronics on soviet guitars seems shite. consider changing it altogether

idk, I have a few man...

because it makes a difference and for some songs it might even be an important part

Am I a faggot for wanting one of these?

>Mahogany Body w/ maple cap
>3 Pickups
>3 way pickup switch controls are bridge, bridge/neck, and neck. The middle pickup is turned on by a hidden volume know on the tip of the pickup switch.
>Bigsby
>24 frets

It's basically everything I want from a SG except the finishes look a little silly. They go for about $1600-$2000 when they show up on Reverb.

It's the 2013 Gibson SG Deluxe by the way.

Well then how should I be muting the low E? I've been using my thumb but by wrapping it around the neck my palm is wrapped over the high E.

looks ugly and 3pickups kill tone

look up sympathetic tones.

Thank you

I want one of these quite badly...

learn to mute the lowest with the thumb AND not mute the highest
or dont mute the low E
or mute both as you said, who cares

yeah they look like total shit

those are actual GIBSONS? Holy shit they look like toys. I knew quality had gone downhill, but this is sad.

Also
>bigsby
>on anything but a rick or gretsch
>ishiggy

3 pickups doesn't kill tone. My buddy has a limited edition LP epiphone (1 of 500) and it has 3 pickups. One of the sweetest sounding and most versatile guitars I've ever played.

looks like they kill ear too...

how about I fuckin rape you

soy

You really don’t need to bother muting the low E, it’s not that difficult not to hit it and if you do it just means you have played an A/E chord by mistake, still sounds good.

friendly reminder that basses will be phased out within 30 years

That's not an offset

that woud be gay

Two of the only artists right now who are vaguely "rock" and popular (Twenty One Pilots and Royal Blood) only have a bass player and no guitarist.

They look slightly less ugly in real photographs that aren't Gibson promos.

Well it seems like the best scenario right now to mute both.

It sounds pretty shit to me when it rings out. Like a clear mistake. At least when both Es are muted it doesn't sound incorrect.

What do most people do for this then? Thumb mute low E and twist their wrist to avoid muting high E?

I just started learning bends and the "pentatonic scale". Am i doing it right?
vocaroo.com/i/s18vuvUITsP5

pretty hot, huh?

FOR GOD'S SAKE YOUR GUITARS ARE ABOUT TO FALL OVER GET SOME STANDS

gay isnt hot

...

What are some good beginner bass resources?

you'd shit no matter what i posted

there is no good bass nothing

who else anime music here?

vocaroo.com/i/s0rSDu2tETxa

Long live the sub bass keyboardist

fuck u >:(

>It sounds pretty shit to me when it rings out. Like a clear mistake.

You’re overthinking it. It’s a valid slash chord, it’s used in many songs.

I don’t mute top strings at all, I just learnt to hit the right strings with practice when strumming. The only time I will mute strings for chords is when the strings absolutely need to be muted in order to play the chord at all, e.g. pic related.

I'm at least waiting for you to post something decent. something not rushed or sloppy. something not WAKE UP MAGGIE.
i have faith in you sam. you have that one video of you playing some blues, thats not bad.

This book is essential. Buy it and practice them often, don't just let it sit around.

Listen to some isolated bass tracks of your favorite artists. You'll get a feel for how bass tracks are recorded/implemented into a mix; and it'll also give you some insight as to how your favorite bass players approached the instrument.

Here's some of my favs
youtube.com/watch?v=f5jTJlikMfI
You can hear Geezer beating the shit out of those strings with his fingers. He has a very bombastic, hard-hitting playing style

youtube.com/watch?v=c6YnvIeWgjw
Here, you can hear Joney's intricate, yet smooth basslines. He always played with exactly the touch that the song needed. He could play hard and intense, or with a pillow soft touch. Dynamics are very important in music.

Buy a cheap usb audio interface (they range from $20 and up on amazon, ebay, or your local cragslist) Start recording bass jams and song demos. Learn to play to a metronome. This will help you learn to play with drums. This will make you a useful bass player in that you can actually play with a real band, AND you have recording knowledge and know how to put demos together.

that last 5min clip is pretty gud. if you dont like it i dont care

Can someone give me the rundown on Jaguar vs. Jazzmaster? Is there any significant difference in the action of the vibrato arm?

>Jaguar vs. Jazzmaster
Mustang

Thoughts on the Kings?

the significant difference is that I want you to rape my sweet ass

Even if you dislike warwick basses you have to admit they're the most solidly build production bass you can buy

It looks like the same persons face has been photoshopped onto all seven of them.

These threads are nothing but a few assholes shitposting

Rip guitar. How long do I have before I have to put it out of its misery

that's because they're german. Krauts over-engineer everything.

I'd rather have an Ibanez prestige bass from Japan. Be about the same money, same quality, same tonal options. I just don't like the brown dildo that warwicks have

I don't think so.

The allure of the P90 pickup...

youtube.com/watch?v=EedGF36YcGI

>only one chance at a reply a lot of the time on /gg/
>got wasted by a memer

seriously how long do i have before i have to retire this guitar

you post this every day
FUCK P90s
Sounds like a half-decent single coil or a shitty humbucker. Get over it. I'll rape you.

Is John 5 a good guitarist?

yes

Humbuckers are just louder single coils that are devoid of highs

He's pretty good on that there telecaster. But he isn't Danny Gatton good. He isn't even Johnny Hiland good.

Jaguar:
>short scale length
>kind of interesting pickups and electronics
>twangy sound but not quite the same as a Tele

Jazzmaster:
>normal scale length
>not very versatile and really hard to get the sound you want out of it which is why JM players drown their sound in effects pedals

Just get a Strat or a Tele desu.

ok i was agreeing with you up until the last few. i guess if we're going to keep the ball rolling

>he thinks the pick he uses makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the way he plucks the strings makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the knobs on the amp makes a difference in sound
>he thinks the effects pedals makes a difference in sound

you do know that the jaguar is just a jm with more bells and whistles right?

Hi.

Use stone pick

John has good technique and can play complicated stuff

It has a different scale length and functions totally differently.

I'm not a fan of either.

>makin' suggestions for my pastas

look up the two I mentioned, then say that.

Can I learn bass and guitar simultaneously?

There's barely anything to learn to play the bass, it will take a week

Easily. It'll even help you with writing more "complete" sounding songs, because you'll always be thinking about how the bass line will tie in with the guitar melody

What song is this from, heard it today but literally just this first part of the song. The notes don't sound quite right to me but the rhythm sounds correct.

Yeah, do this in a week.

youtube.com/watch?v=cytyAgu9-bA

I'm a dummy who doesn't really know notes, but the shape and the rhythm made me immediately think of this

youtube.com/watch?v=SECVGN4Bsgg

yeah that sounds like it, didn't know it was saxophone lol

just looked them up and John still plays the same now

spread your butt for me

V-Pick*

spreading

>family members all look alike

Who would have thought

42min John Mayer lesson
youtube.com/watch?v=KrM66h2dTWY

How can I quickly swap between fingerstyle and strumming with a pick? What do you do with the pick inbetween sections?

...

just learn to hybrid pick when you can. if it's really something that needs a dedicated fingerstyle part you're gonna have to just put it down, hybrid pick, or play with your fingernail like a pick

2 weeks

Has anybody ever actually performed with something like that

Do it

IDK. I'm not the pick police

I think my moe stuff sounds like anime.
vocaroo.com/i/s16pqySIMwnJ

>he thinks makin suggestions for his pastas makes a difference in sound

that was real pleasant to listen to

>>he thinks the amp makes a difference in sound
okay that there is bullshit though. a shitty cheap Squier ministrat sounds great through a VOX AC15

Any sound fags tonight?
