hate that shit. i've noticed it happens more when they're nervous

>hate that shit

yes, that's one of the pros of live music.

>band plays 20 minute version of a track live

>band then re-records original slow song faster the way they've been playing it live

>hate that shit

Is this just the ADHD versions of the tracks?
I doubt this is a prefered version. A band making a track faster, doesn't it make it feel rushed?

You're overthinking it.

>band plays every song slower live than the album version

...

not arguments

...

>pic related of the band not playing their own music properly because they'd rather be at home fuckin OP's sister

>live version is a completely different song and is actually way better

seems to be the case with a lot of gentle giant songs that they played live

>live album
>every track is better than the album versions
What's her name, Sup Forums?

Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged
Led Zeppelin Live DVD
Soundgarden live in Dusseldorf 1990
Judas Priest Unleashed in the East (doesn't count for the expanded/special edition: delivering the good is best on album version)

TKOL Live from the Basement

That's live, but not a live show.
What do you even call that?

Cheap Trick At Budokan.

** was it prerecorded for TV btw I noticed it was on TV

Ween, even though its a very slight change of pace. But in shit like I'll be your Johnny it goes insane

>hate that shit

fuck allot of things

Would be 98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare, if they didn't change the start of 5th part of Long Season.

...

>band progressively plays songs slower as they get old
anything sadder out there?

yeah

Genesis Live 1973

With rock bands I think the live version is definitely the more true version of a song. Most engineers and producers prefer to have bands record to a click track in the studio. Mapping out a click track perfectly for a song that has been written and rehearsed live is pretty much impossible unless your drummer is a drum machine. The general instinct is to not rush the tempo, so the click often ends up being a little slower than how the song is played in rehearsal.

Complete Matrix Tapes apart from Sister Ray

Elton John 17-11-70

rushed like half assed, less put together

queens of the stone age used to play go with the flow so fucking fast it didn't even sound like the same song.

I checked this out and it was a while ago, but goddamn.

Swans - Public Castration is a Good Idea and Feel Good Now

Most bands do this, probably un-intentionally.

its harder to play it at he right tempo than it is playing it faster than needed

>go to Gun's n' Roses gig
>Every song has a reggae medley
