These movies were garbage overall but it has a few really bright spots, thanks largely to Freeman.

This is a good one.

The Black Rabbit serves Lord Frith, but he does no more than his appointed task.

>She didn't leave me Paulie she DIED.

This whole movie kills me

This shit was traumatizing as a kid.

The ending of Captain Phillips where Tom Hanks breaks down.

>"THAT'S NOT MY BLOOD!"

...

Fucking Europa Report and that scene in Contagion when she injects herself.

Something about human sacrifice for science gets me.

/thread

Is Tom Hanks the greatest actor of our generation?

Also The Lobster when she realizes she's fallen in love. Brutal fucking movie.

Wow, the other person who has actually seen this movie. I never thought I'd meet you. Also I agree.

Europa Report was pure kino. Didn't like that they showed the alien at the end though, at least not so clearly. Kind of ruins the mystique when you find out it's just a big squid.

Brooks' scene kills me every fucking time.

I can see that as a valid criticism, though I feel they showed just enough. It needed to be clear and unmistakable that it was a lifeform and not a gas pocket or some other phenomenon.

Killed him too

Jesus christ even seeing a .jpg of this scene brought it out

What the fuck

>Didn't like that they showed the alien at the end though
If they didn't, the whole point of the movie would be lost. She died so we could see the ayy, just like the rest of them gave their lives so we could achieve this.

Look at it er, kind of objectively, or at least within the perspective of the world you live in. Which is now more satisfying?

This is pretty low key but as an adult I get it now. I can't imagine going through life hating my father.

But yes. Truly unappreciated. Maybe it'll get the following it deserves when we care about space again.

I also want to point out how good the chemistry was between the leads. You really felt the loss and struggles they went through.

>that scene where Sharlto Copley dies
That was some nerve wracking shit. I can't imagine what it'd be like to float away into space knowing there's nothing and nobody that can save you. Fuck.
Also I just realized the slav guy is the mob boss from John Wick.

>I love you. I have always loved you David.
>That was the everlasting moment he had been waiting for. And the moment had passed, for Monica was sound asleep. More than merely asleep.
>Should he shake her she would never rouse. So David went to sleep too. And for the first time in his life, he went to that place... where dreams are born.

What timeline did I wake up in today where Sup Forums is posting about and agreeing with movies I like?

The page 3 timeline

Nah he's fucking trash

He has no clue and just doesnt understand why

...

The scene in Field of Dreams where he plays catch with his dad.

youtube.com/watch?v=b_wnD6jxREU

Takes me a good 10 minutes to get my shit together after I watch that.

I hope kids are still watching these movies. 80s animation was the sweet spot.

>I wonder if it remembers me...

>Tell me I'm a good man
>Tell me I've lived a good life

I know the movie is looked down upon here but this scene no matter how many times I watch it gets me.

Dad issues or something but also the fact that in reality his dad probably was disappointed

I forgot Pete Postlethwaite was in that movie.

The Plague Dogs is sadder.

there are those common scenes that get everyone but perhaps one that is unique for me is Casino.

The when they beat Pecsis brother to death and bury them both alive. I just think of me having to watch my bro and I lose it

Lots of good cartoons with sad shit.

This scene fucking killed me when I first saw the film five years ago. I watched it on my birthday after having dropped out of college for a second time a couple months prior. Felt like I was doing nothing with my life. Saw this scene and I couldn't stop the tears. I was literally crying non-stop from this point until the end of the film. I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

He did a good job dying

>My best friend died a year ago
Jesus christ I thought I was done grieving.

No reddit gold here, you attention whoring faggot.

...

Even my homophobic friend has to admit this is one of the best love stories ever in film

So fucking lame and cheesy

Sharing how a film is or has become relevant to someone on a board about film/tv in a thread about moments in said films/tv that jerk your tears is not attention whoring you colossal asshole. gb2/b/

gay

>I have word, Master Thatcher. Word of your son.
>Of my William? Come in, sir. What word? Does he live?
> Oh yes. He lives. He wanted you to know...he changed his stars after all.
>And has he followed his feet? Has he found his way home at last?

youtu.be/3bdm4NBYxII

If you don't at least tear up you're a soulless robot

Jesus fuck that killed me

>mom divorced my dad when I was little and left us
>resented my dad for not giving me the same things other kids had
>as an adult find out how he sold everything he had and lived in poverty just to raise us
>know that nothing I can do will pay him back

I hear that, I do feel bad for people who have shit family life.

This movie was the most boring piece of shit

...

My sister hates my father for tearing apart her family. I sometimes have to mediate between them and try to get her to be more positive.

It would be for people not interested in the subject matter. It's one of my favourite movies, and I found it compelling, but it is very niche.

youtube.com/watch?v=mFrGtlLH1Fw

This scene is sad but also joyful, It's such a weird combo.

Grave of the Fireflies hit me pretty hard

Nah it's one if my favorite subjects that's why I watched it. I've actually never watched something and felt that little, it's like I was watching a sine wave for 90 minutes

Thats a good one OP. One of my favorite movies.

Another one for me is the Ride of the Rohirrim.

Black Hawk Down and the Gortoz a Ran song specifically. Hans Zimmer is brilliant.

Gets me in tears of revenge

youtube.com/watch?v=5i0u4jFmE78

I cried at end of batman vs superman but not out of sadness

Well, for cartoons, what really brought me out was about the last 30 minutes of Inside Out. It was more or less personal for me, so I doubt many people would be on the same boat; at least for the same reasons, but it really was a tearjerker.

Also, I never actually watched The Iron Giant (Had a rather shit childhood, to be honest) but even without context watching that scene where he saves the world brings a tear to my eye. I tend to be extremely imaginative, and that scene really just gives the perfect amount of context for me to begin imagining different ways it actually happened. I kind of want to watch the movie, but I feel like it would ruin it. Tell me if I'm wrong though, Sup Forums.

If we're counting weeaboo stuff, the wedding scene in Kanon 2006 is sadder than anything I've seen.

Auuuuuuuu~ ;_;

nice trips

>I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I came

>You'll forgive my impertinence, Sir, but even though we have never before met, I have always considered you as a father to me.

>Quellek... by Grabthar's hammer... by the Suns of Worvan... you shall be... avenged.

That look on his face as he dies. We should all be so lucky.

You owe it to yourself to watch it. A truly beautiful film, and there's not a single person on earth that doesn't like it.

Apparently there's an extended cut but it doesn't really add to the story.

>know that nothing I can do will pay him back

Living a good life would pay him back, user. To bad you're shitposting on Sup Forums, huh?

We had lunch today, we bitched about how liberal policies stifle small business owners like him. He's proud that I have a good job with no debt and don't owe anyone. He doesn't care about my personal indiscretions because I'm a productive member of society and I've earned that.

This movie gets way too much shit

I always tear up
>It is time, Frodo.
youtube.com/watch?v=qTstBMkeAH8

Watch this movie every Christmas with the family, and this scene has gotten to me more increasingly as the years have gone by.

Home Alone is just such a good movie.

youtube.com/watch?v=Avq6f4JQYMI

King Theodin shouting death before riding into, well, almost certain death, actually makes me tear up every time.

Boromir's death is also an honorable mention

>we bitched about how liberal policies stifle small business owners like him.

lol

Also, Frodo sending Sam away on the cliffs of Minas Morgul was the first time I remember ever crying during a movie

Liberal with a capital L, not actual liberal. Modern Liberals are Authoritarian Egalitarians.

youtube.com/watch?v=uoDigplUtKU

Can't recall the name, but the movie with Elijah Wood where his step dad beats the shit out of him and his brother. That and Bicentennial Man are the only movies that have made me cry

>On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That it was my job? My job?
>You tell God the Father it was a kindness you done. I know you hurtin' and worryin', I can feel it on you, but you oughta quit on it now. Because I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?

>YOU CAN FLY

youtube.com/watch?v=5Ipcnz96hE8

Even my parents liked it and they hate most movies. It's one of the few film adaptations that's better than the original novel.

Ending of Unforgiven. Clint deciding to finally put it all behind him for the good of his kids and for the loving memory of his wife.

the only movie that reduced me to tears

Jesus christ, I have only watched the end scene of that film once. I was balling like a child when he lay down on the bed and "Adigo for Strings' begins to play.
