What are some of the most unsettling, disturbing, and eerie albums you've listened to?
I'd like to nominate pic related, not just for "Frankie Teardrop" but also for the undercurrent of darkness and anxiety that runs through the rest of the songs. I realize it's not the most disturbing album out there, but it can be shocking to listen to for the first time.
SFTB is an obvious contender. Real voice recordings of serious criminals (I think they are phone recordings from Jarboe's father who was an FBI man?) on I Was A Prisoner In Your Skull, The Beautiful Days, Minus Something. The Beautful Days as a whole creates a deeply unsettling atmosphere. So do All Lined Up, Surrogate 2 or the really eerie bells in Her Mouth Is Filled With Honey. That is just the obvious things. Every song adds to the atmosphere in a different way. I've never heard anything as intense, multi-layered or interesting. I seriously love this album.
Your choice is also good OP

Something about DNA on DNA weirded me out.
Henry Jones
Step aside.
Kayden Price
The scorpion album, you guys know the one, hopefully most of you don't.
The atmosphere is eerie and it just feels that something is lurking underneath the field recordings combined with lo-fi crackles and sounds. "Kuu lohduttaa huolestuneita", for example.
Connor Taylor
Scott Walker - the drift is being far the best of these albums. Theres even a doc about the painstaking process of making it.
John Reyes
DID YOU EVER THROW YOUR OWN MOTHER'S FOOD BACK AT HER!?! DID YOU EVER TELL HER 'TAKE THIS FILTH AWAY!?!? WHAT KIND OF AN UNNATURAL SON WOULD DO THAT TO HIS OWN MOTHER!?!
Robert Martinez
NO
Ryan Watson
No Bish Bosch is not as good as the drift nor tilt.
Eeriest fucking album ever. Still the best in GY!BE's discography.
Isaac Sanders
can you subtly not name it
Jaxon Jones
OH WAIT. The album by the Scoprions. I know what you mean.
Grayson Phillips
Yep. As a finn I enjoy the "finnish forest folk" bands very much. Magical stuff.
Ryan Stewart
Chills down my spine with this album
Michael Reed
yeah man that's exactly what I was talking about have a fun listen

Hamburger Laaadyyyy
Evan Myers
I think one of the reasons this is so underrated is people go into it expecting it to be fun and slightly bittersweet like Spirit, but instead it's unsettling and fucked up.
Jackson Cooper
Industrial in general. Moving on.
William Richardson
I'D PUNCH A DONKEY IN THE STREETS OF GALWAY *DONKEY BRAYING*

Whitehouse lost all its edge when Peter SHITOS joined. Anyone who things Birdseed or that album you posted can come close to stuff like Erector, or Great White Death is just a meme-loving cunt
Aiden Adams
>underrated It's one of the three albums by them that gest posted and discussed the most. It's also shit
Jackson Barnes
>It's one of the three albums by them that gest posted and discussed the most. blatantly untrue.

Halber Mench by Einsterzende Neubauten (I probably didn't even spell that right)
Album is said to be recorded in psychiatric hospital as a part of therapy
Jonathan Nguyen
this album is weird as fuck
various swans albums by objective
Brayden Rodriguez
obscure as fuck bandcamp albums
Hudson Rivera
Not only is that not true, but that album has by far the lowest score on AnCo's rym page. It's like 2,50 or something.
Michael Sanders
What's creepy about that album? Is enjoyable industrial with the expected dark and claustrophobic atmosphere, but it isn't really creepy or unsettling imo.
Wyatt Morgan
when you think track two is sad then track three destroys you
Jaxon Peterson
Insanity captured in 56 minutes
Dominic Reed
never really found frankie teardrop all that disturbing all lined up is pretty fuckin out there tho
this album isn’t very disturbing for the most part but bad hospital hurts my soul
Colton Richardson
Does anyone have the song where it's just a bunch of women screaming? That legitimately disturbed me.
Luis Lee
That is so not what it is. The guys in that band sat around yelling at each other for thirty minutes and then made up the "mental patients screaming" lie to make the album seem more kvlt.
Carter Brown
not even just frankie teardrop, whole album is really skittery and unnerving
do people have "I Love You This Much" erased from their memory? that terrifying sound in the beginning that makes your body feel like you're in danger followed by exactly what hell sounds like
isn't that pharmakon
Thomas Rodriguez
honestly i wish wasn't so fucking stupid so i could figure out what the album was called.
it's not worth it. mentioning it always derails threads like this, so i which people would just stop mentioning it everytime. even if they just hint at it it leads to newfags who either desperately try to find out what it is or others that claim it's just a meme
Noah Price
I will concede that intentional wartime spooking by sending a superstitious people hellish recordings is legitimate. Swans, though ? No. Not by a long shot.
bro was a valedictorian at high school and studied speech pathology (i believe) into grad study but now he tours around like some nomadic mutant just because he is driven by spreading his gospel of extreme music
go to bed to this
Evan Lewis
I guess it won't seem much through explanation but I was going through a deep depression, plus a bunch of stress and drama in my life. Whenever I would listen to this album it would typically be while I was in a fight with someone or a similar situation. I would lie under my bed covers in the dark and slowly drift in and out of sleep as the album droned on. You know how you can sort of be half asleep when listening to music? I felt completely paralyzed, hopeless and alone.
Kayden Collins

Is this something illegal that'll get me red flagged on the internet for searching? Nothing came up on Spotify and I think that's as far as I'll go. Someone said CP, fuck that shit.
so by youtubing I read some pretty crazy publicized story about someone who now is in jail. I'm assuming there's an album that sampled the released footage. Too spooky for me atm.
Gavin James
I fucking love Her Mouth Is Filled With Honey, that hypnotic melody is so great
Logan Miller
I dont know any power electronics album that doesnt fit OPs criterias
Pornography is one of the most disturbing albums I've encountered that hasn't already been mentioned. The tracks One Hundred Years, Siamese Twins and The Figurehead always manage to trigger my anxiety. youtube.com/watch?v=R-JDa_8PFa8
Hey But yeah, the album is fantastic and definitely deserves to be posted ITT
Luke Perry
First time I listened to this was in a dark office at night, with a door right behind me. Great experience, haven't had anything like that before or after.
Easton Smith
The first time I heard that album, especially the title track, I thought the gates of Hell were opening up, and I was being sucked into the vortex. That was certainly my reaction to it.
