Favorite decade of music?
1995-2005
10's ;)
90s but intelligent
Probably the 70s, that's when production really vamped up. Most records from 78-82 sound so good. I wonder if it had to do with the mastering at the time, but consistently those years everything sounds soooo good,
late 70s early 80s
1780's
*4
see, this guy gets it
>no 60s
60s
early 80s & early 70s
Late 60s to Early 70s.
1966-1976 To be more specific.
60s is the only correct answer. anyone who chooses any other decade is automatically disqualified from Sup Forums forever
most of my favorite music is post 2000, just like me
Late 80s to Early 90s
60s > 70s > 90s > 00s > 80s > 50s > 10s
The 60's revivalism part of the 90's.
40s>any other decade
once they brought niggers into the mix it all went to shit desu
for me its
70s > 80s > 60s > 90s > 00s = 10s >50s
these
The 60s started with Chuck Berry n shit and ended with songs like Sister Ray and Helter Skelter.
It must have been exciting seein music change at such a rapid pace.
I do love my Carpenters and Steely Dan albums (70s) and New Order and Prince, but yeah, the 60s were intense.
I've said it before and I will say it again, 80s music sucked. Although very influential and crucial for the music of the 90s and 2000s to be so great, the whole point of the decade was simplifying and watering down what was happening in the 70s (with a few exceptions). Overall, musically everything became simpler and the experimentation that was going on (in the industrial scene for instance) were, for the most part, unmelodic and overly-reliant on repetition. Influential and important decade, but I don't love any albums from it.
80s
Fuck u all
The 90's started with synthpop/hair metal and ended with Radiohead/drum and bass.
60's
im a late 80s-early 90s person
60s is the best decade for pop music in my opinion
Mid 2000s was the best rock music ever
Fall Out boy was the pinnacle of pop punk/pop emo
Paramore was the pinnacle of pop-rock
The Daysleepers was the pinnacle of Shoegaze/dreamgaze
MCR was the pinnacle of emo rock
etc
This tbqh
if youre a rock fan and dont say the 60s, you are still very early on your musical journey

>Not realizing 2020's music is the best
You're all plebs
Hah, you plebs, I only listen to music from the 2,000,000 BC's, when it was only the Homo habilis banging on rocks and having sex as the percussion.
2000s
At RYM
I rated more music from 2000s than everything else combined.
Then I rated more music from 2010s then everything else combined, excluding 2000s
Then I rated more music from 90s than everything else combined excluding 2010s and 2000s.
The same happens with 80s....
And then 70s..
1965-1974
>The 90's started with synthpop/hair metal
New jack swing, hair metal and grunge
If I could only listen to one decade of music it would be the 60s without a moment’s hesitation. So many brilliant albums.
>I rated more music from 2000s than everything else combined.
So because you rated more that means it's better?
I mean I've rated more albums from the 80s than I have the 60s but most of my 80s ratings are negative you get what I mean?
>haha i prefer bands who perpetuated the very thing the counter culture was against, with shallow songwriting about sex and drugs
>i also like music that barely innovated anything and just copied its contemporaries
>i also fell for the Sup Forums meme that 60s music is invald because the most popular music was government backed, creating the counter culture as controlled opposition
fuck off reddit, this isnt a wrong generation thread, we are just comparing our preferences in the major musical movements and general musical culture of different decades
1920s
If I could only listen to music from one decade's span it would be 1956-1966.
This but unironically
