The reason this is the best Terminator is not just because it's a superior film, it's the only film where the Terminator is truly just a robot. It has no feelings about killing you. It doesn't hate you, it's not angry at you. It just does what it's programmed to do.
The second movie is entertaining but the idea that the robot suddenly becomes human because it hung around with some spunky kid for a few weeks is ludicrous. And by the 4th movie Skynet itself had emotions. They forgot what made the Terminator so fucking awesome in the first place.
