its good

Just put it on for a spin one afternoon. It's nice.

I'm starting to like it

First three tracks are one of the best intros to an album ever.
AND THE HEAT GOES ON

One of the rare gems that was innovative & experimental for its time and was incredibly commercially successful as well.

it's full of fun

Well put together songs. The production is incredible, how the layers upon layers of
the independently sparse instrumentation come together to form the songs rhythms. Hits that middle area where it's accessible enough for anybody to enjoy but doesn't compromise any artistic depth. The grooves, especially on the first three tracks, are top notch. The albums just jams, it's fun to listen to and doesn't get old quickly.

The Great Curve gets me dancing and singing along every time without fail

Seen and Not Seen is the most underrated track in the last century.

first track has one of the most hypnotic grooves I've ever heard.
The constant guitar noodling, Burne's abstract lyrics, the layers of backup vocals.
>THE HAND SPEAKS, THE HAND OF A GOVERNMENT MAN
Once you've heard this song your in for the rest of the ride.

Cultural Appropriation

these hands

Me and my mate were hammered and I put this on. He loved it, danceable as fuck grooves

Take a look at these

That's actually just one hand

DON'T YA MISS IT

SOME OF YOU PEOPLE JUST ABOUT MISSED IT

He wonders if he too, might have made a similar mistake...

Blue pill is the first few tracks are the best.

Fake red pill is second side is better than first.

True red pill is that the songs are arranged backwards in sequence from best (The Overload) to worst.

listening wind is okay and kinda cool

the overload is boring

Remain in Light is 3/4 perfect. I can understand slowing it down a bit for the end of the album. "This Must Be The Place" did it well. "The Overload" is just a dirge.

No, you've taken the contrarianpill

the more I listen to it, the more I like it!

YOU MAY FIND YOURSELF BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A LARGE AUTOMOBILE

>tfw nobody else realizes that The Great Curve is the best track
It's lonely at the top...

agree the last couple of songs are great, but the middle is the weakest, no doubt.

this

Tina Weymouth is the grooviest bass player that has ever lived

It has its moments but overall isn't that great, 6/10. Talking Heads '77 is fantastic though

It's Fela Kuti for people with short attention spans

>tfw I actually agree with FRIENDO
welp, gotta go hang myself

I thought this was well established on Sup Forums?

Embrace your inner patrician. Don your tripcode and spread good taste to all.

Unless it happened very recently, no. I've always been the odd one out in conversations about this album.

Well find out now

>LETTTING THE DAYS GO BYYYYYYY
Shivers every time

more like The Overload?

literally the only track I like except Once in A Lifetime and Born Under Punches

It's just a Joy Division song m8

soy here.
immensely quotable
immensely danceable
immensely creative as not only does it use unonventional time signatures, it occasionally departs from them completely while not going rhythmically obtuse
surprisingly atmospheric for pop music, especially on side B
david byrne has great taste in prosody/ delivery which could save any line
"impossibly complex rhythm section", to the point the rhythm section doesn't sound like tape loops at points, it sounds like a sequencer or drumkit, human league style. but deeper, crisper drums.
lyrics have a lot of sentiment and humor which (i wouldn't know i'm british) i would assume was relevant to the economic/ taxonomic concerns of America at the time
contextual stuff about the production style. it has eno's signature processing

DIVINE TO DEFINE SHE'S LOOKING TO DEFINE SO SAY SO SO SAY SO

What do the songs on Remain In Light mean to you Sup Forums?

What I mean is that Byrne has always been known for his interpretive lyrics. What do you get out of them?

it actually wasn't a success until a year after its release when MTV launched and Once in a Lifetime was one of the first videos played

good record if I'm honest

Comfy album, had some comfy outtakes as well.

This is gonna sound really dumb but the last song "Right Start" is kinda a cure-all for my mood.
Whenever I get anxious and down, i'll sometimes remember that song and the riff gives me a lot of comfort n hope.

That's just me tho idk

Hi friendo

I love that song, and I just realized it has the same bassline as once in a lifetime

post-african repetitions

mate literally everyone has a song like that, not cringe at all

THIS IS CORRECT
>it might take ten years or so......
