Obligatory

wrong kid died

The first and second Scary Movie. The rest a shit. A SHIT!

Top Secret

This is Spinal tap

Never seen it.
Is he supposed to be Johnny Cash?

the score is really good too

Music comedy kino. Even the songs are great.

one of the best, with great music.

is the animated series any good? because i love blaxploitation and i love black dynamite.

Not exactly, but the movie is a satire of movies like Walk the Line and Ray. All about how the musician rose from humble origins, hit it big, crashed with drugs, got dumped, then made a comeback and got back with the girl, the end.

The drug scenes were legit funny desu. Don't remember much else about it

In my mind youre blowing me
Some kisses

Watch it again. You won't be disappointed.

>forgot they made fun of "the beatles" in this movie

Shit i have to watch this again

>Ringo
Jason Shwartzman
>Paul
Jack Black
>George
Justin Long
>John
Paul Rudd

"Hmmmmm paul is a big fat cunt"

What We Do In The Shadows

That's not really a spoof, though.

...

I'd say it is. It parodies the vampire genre in general, including the Anne Rice versions and more old school Nosferatu vampires.

what says, also i guess you could say it spoofs documentaries, hence the genre mockumentary.

that was a particularly bad case of somebody being cut in half

There are only two people who know kung fu

The chinese.....and the King

I legit want a Beatles comedy movie with these guys

Beatles scene was god tier

>The '60s are an important and exciting time.

>Aren't they? It's like there's something happening here.

>And what it is ain't exactly...

>...obvious.

>they ripped on George Lucas for inserting Hayden Christiansan at the end of Return of the Jedi: special edition

This movie had it fucking all. So good

>i couldn't reattach his top half to his bottom half
>IN ENGLISH DOC

A figurative middle finget to the audience of RotJ and Walk hard.

Ok you convinced me Sup Forums

Are there any recent comedies that are good? It feels like I haven't seen a good one in a long time.

>is the animated series any good
sure, it kind of changes format to "insert 70s celeb and make fun of them" but it's funny imo although I couldn't watch the richard pryor episode it was too mean

the jenna fischer sex scene was awesome

GOAT soundtrack

You gotta go to indie films now. Hollywood is putting out remakes, reboots and sequels and they are completly watered down, content wise.

They've been almost exclusively dumb comedies for a long time now. I liked the Jump Streets, and the Horrible Bosses were alright, but most of these others have been pretty mediocre.

animated series is okay, don't expect the same quality of writing as the movie

besides ghostbusters paul feig's other movies like bridesmaids and spy are really funny. never saw the heat because i hate sandra bullock

...

trainwreck and sisters

The writing is ok, some reused jokes from the movie.

I just cant wait for the next live action BD movie.

Popstar and Swiss army man were the only 2 god comedies of 2016.

The animated series goes off the rails, but in a good way. It literally gives no fucks

>the HNIC
>literal soul train Players Ball
>22 in. tubesteak
>Honky Kong
>Elvis singing about his crippling Rx addiction
>The black version of the Wiz, and the Fairy Godfather of Soul
>puppet dick slapping
>black astronaut OJ
>that Mr Rogers episode
>ongoing Roscoe's gag

It actually qualifies as more of a spoof than the movie, which is much more of a loving homage. You can't really spoof B movies, but you can spoof the fuck out of The Cosby Show and Different Strokes.

Haha i didnt get that until now.

I now appreciate this scene/movie more

The fact that it spoofed Love & Mercy seven years before the movie was made is astounding - The Pet Sounds studio scenes are practically identical.

Incredibly underrated film.
Just think of how great John's movies would be without Will Ferrell holding him back with his man baby routine.

>Nixon's the bad guy

Fucking niggers

i think they work great together
can't wait for that sherlock holmes movie they're doing
deadline.com/2016/08/will-ferrell-john-c-reilly-holmes-and-watson-talladega-nights-step-brothers-etan-cohen-1201804446/

Lauren Lapkus is in this which is the only reason I haven't dismissed it completely.

It had so many good cameos but that didnt distract you from the story.

The jokes were actually funny and well written/executed and John c rielly actually sings.

Its making fun of black exploitation movies.

Why wouldnt they make Nixon the bad guy?

>I wonder if your songs will still be shit when I'm 64
best line in that movie

A good movie makes you laugh and cry.

A great movie makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Like his final song hit me in the feels but it was funny.

>its about the good walks
>and the bad walks
>and the young girls you made cry
>its about making little music till the day that you die
>its a beatiful ride

I almost cried because it was so emotional but then they cut to a montage containibg a cock shot in full frame.

Such a great movie

>but black dynamite....I sell drugs to the community!!

I've seen this movie a hundred times and this still kills me

Chocolate Giddy Upp

Only the jump streets.

This.

They showed it to several rock bands back in the day.
None of them laughed.
For them it was like "Yeah i know a guy, same thing happened to him".
Ozzy reportedly didn't get that it was a spoof, for him, it was tuesday.

The first Jump Street was pretty good.

>that scene where they struggled to break out of the pods ended up happening years later to U2

It'd be funnier if they didn't explain every single joke.

Example or youre full of shit.

such is american comedy.

Not too quick on the uptake are you?

but it isn't parodying american comedy, it's parodying musical biopics, it is in essence an american comedy. being self aware of over-exposition doesn't excuse over-exposition.

youtube.com/watch?v=vQ3LO8WiAIg

this movie has a GOAT soundtrack
legitimately good songs

They purpously drew out exposition because thats what films like "walk the line" and "Ray" did

Do you know what parody films are or are you legit stupid?

This. Walk Hard kind of ruined movies about artists for me. Whenever I watch them I think "Wow this is just like Walk Hard" They all follow the same exact tropes.

explaining every single joke isn't part of parodying plot exposition, it's a trademark of american comedies tailored for the american movie goers. the initial post was criticizing how jokes weren't subtle enough. musical biopics aren't known for on the nose jokes, american comedies are. walk the line is a parody of musical biopics, but also an american comedy movie.

the initial claim in was that it would be funnier if the jokes were more subtle and better paced. i agree with this sentiment. this issue has nothing to do with it being a parody of a certain genre, it has to do with it belonging to another.

So youre going with "legit stupid"

Gotcha.

i played this song once in the car with my grandma and she fell in love with it
bought the CD and plays it all the time at her house

cool argument, thanks for deconstructing my observation and explaining how the movie wouldn't work unless the jokes weren't as obvious as they were.

>they expects a good argument

Where do you think you are stupid?

>European butthurt

I honestly can't decide if I like this movie or not.

And he never paid for drugs.

Not once.

>they expects
clearly i'm up against masterminds

Popstar: Never Stop, Never Stopping was pretty good.

>This all my DJ Equipment!
>You use all this during the show?
>Oh. No. I just use this iPod.

>you responded
>corrected grammar on the Internet

Haha your seething with butthurt.

calmer than you are.

...

>Continual, non-spicy troll feeding
It's like I'm back on Sup Forums in 2010

I saw the poster and it looked like garbage.

Watched it and learned that was actually John's voice...i was blown away. He got on phonquine phoenix level of method acting

If an erection last for more than 4 hours, call more ladies.

I didn't even realize that was Jack Black until I watched it again.

>jack black

Icwutudidther

Second one was great though

>Ice Cube loosing his shit at a buffet

>I'm so proud you learned to play guitar with no sense of smell.
>It's okay ma' I learned by ear

Gets me every time. My second favourite comedy behind Kung Pow

When Bowie died I didn't even get around to listening to his stuff, I just put Dewey's Starman cover on loop
youtube.com/watch?v=3Z2Va7ruWgg
Apparently there were a few other covers he did that didn't make the movie/OST

Tim Meadows? How do we get him to resurfacE more often?

GODDAMN IT OP

That is the word I was trying to think of but I could only think of Parody. Not sure if anyone is autistic enough to remember my post but there ya go. Man I could not remember that word Spoof to save my mother.

Walk Hard hit all the musician biopic tropes just so well.
>I've got a song, you just follow my lead
