Is guitar music dead?

Is guitar music dead?

Yes.

Rap music is right behind it (it’s where guitar music was circa 1999)

sad

Yes, finally.

>Rap music is right behind it
I fucking hope so. It would pave the way for a new glorious era of EDM

>It would pave the way for a new glorious era of EDM
No it wont. That's dead too.

The question is what comes next

no
king gizz

the top 40 is dominated by a ginger faggot that plays the acoustic

no, is that what nigs call it now?

>EDM

Guitar is dead, hip hop is dead, edm is dead.

It's time to loop round to the only good music ever made. Classical.

gus dapperton still exist so no

Thankfully

fuck genres. anyone that can easily fit into a genre is lame

electronic art music

Stop saying "guitar music" when you obviously mean rock.

Stop saying ''electronic music'' when you obviously mean dance music

Stop saying ''classical music'' when you obviously mean symphonies

Stop saying ''jazz'' when you obviously mean hard bop.

Stop saying ''folk'' when you obviously mean pop/rock with an acoustic.

probably "experimental" electronica a la FKA twigs and Arca, along with some gus dapperton type indieshit to complement it

>experimental electronica
>FKA twigs

Yes, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying what's been done in the past. It had a pretty great run as an instrument!

String music has been dead since the turn of the millenium really

which Primus album is this

>Stop saying ''electronic music'' when you obviously mean dance music
>Stop saying ''classical music'' when you obviously mean symphonies
>Stop saying ''jazz'' when you obviously mean hard bop.
these are far reaching. it's like you just want to be offended, bitch boy

No they aren't, only one who is pointlessly offended is you.

Hard bop is a subgenre of jazz though

There are still new bands that play guitars that pull good crowds, so no.
But you're right if you mean it's just not the status quo anymore, though I'd argue it only really dominated the 60s and 70s

and rock is a subgenre of guitar music so whats the problem?

Why does realistic Eddy look like 6ixty9ine?

No, it's just changing. Guitars are being treated less as a center of focus and more as what they are: instruments. Guitars are finally starting to take a backseat so other instruments and electronic elements can coalesce with them. People are finally starting to find ways to make electronic music and guitars play nice.

e.g. The xx

>no u
epic

It didn't even totally dominate the 60's and 70's. Guitar was only truly dominant as an instrument from like 1958-1966.

As long as there are bands around still making math rock I'll be fine

This, just because it’s an acoustic doesn’t mean it’s not a guitar.
