They are no different from any flawed gov, in particular the British. Its a form of self deprecation.

How do so many people come to that conclusion?

She's a liar, and she mustn't tell lies

Her father was a violent alcoholic who raped at from age 8 to 11.

Creates all sorts of personality disorders.

Centaurs usually rape

She was just trying to redpill the kids on the halfbreeds

Meant for you

her problem was being in le dullest franchise xDDDD

one of the dullest franchises in the history of movie franchises.

Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

Man, I started to worry not seeing you around

Hate fuck is the best.

where's the image?

yo uhhhh why are u slacking

Its like pottery

Quite literally, actually

Am I the only one who actually likes this character ?
I mean, she's awful, a horrible and despicable villain. She embodies so many things we hate as children and she brings so much misery without even doing anything that destructive. She reminds me of Annie Wilkes when she's acting sweet before her crazy outburts.

In a series so cluttered with dull characters, and a completely ineffectual and silly villain, having at least one genuinely despicable (for the right reasons) and hated villain really makes her stand out, at least to me.
She's an infinitely better villain than Voldemort ever was.

yes I'm glad they represented this brand of "evil"

too many people are abused by Umbridges and feel trapped because she uses gaslighting and other despicable things. I hate her. she reminds me of my mother.

Umbridge is like every single horrible and abusive teacher we had while growing up combined into a single character. She's wicked partially because she puts Harry and his friends through situations we've likely been through, without them being able to do a single goddamn thing about it because of her connections to the Ministery of Magic. It's not even because of some super dangerous spell she knows, or that the teachers like her (they don't), it's only because she has connections to government corruption.

She embodies incompetent, cruel, corrupt and abusive authority figures everywhere, which makes her more realistic and more personal than some silly snake dude trying to rule the world because lolevil. And I like that the movies chose not to make her the ugly toadlike person she was in the books, but instead made her look like a young grandmother anyone could have met at some point, while also ramping up her evil punishment.

Honestly, I dislike the series, and the majority of it's characters, but this is undeniably a great villain.

Good post user.
