Ive read the cobain biography, Heavier than Heaven, and based on that book it's not out of the picture to imagine that perhaps he threw one down a chimney, just like, he would do dumb shit sometimes. He did once take a bunch of tadpols and fed them to his pet turtles for no reason, and then laughed about how the limbs were floating around in his aquarium, which is a bit of a fucked thing to do.
