Go M's

Since the Angels are done, what do they need to do to improve for next season?

Same as the Mariners, find a good pitcher or two. Then again I could see you guys go after one of the top hitters like Moustakas

So Upton is leaving? I think they should be agressive in pursuing him. Who is a good free agency pitcher after this season?

Well I don't know if Upton opts out is the question. There's Darvish, Arrieta, Lynn, and Cobb out in the starters market. Ohtani is also someone to look out for. I know the Mariners are interested in him since Jerry went out to see him play but I don't know if the Angels are.

I heard about this otani guy. Knowing the Angels, they won't do shit. I don't even know if Scoscia is leaving the team. If the Angels do get Moustakas, and only him, I'll be fine.

That'd suck if you got rid of Scioscia, hate the Angels but there's no doubt he's a great manager. Moose probably is a best fit for the Angels anyways since he's from SoCal. We here in Seattle seem to like what Jerry is doing. How's Eppler working out for you guys?

>mlb.tv stream for the game skipping around, lagging, dropping quality constantly
Is this the power of making your service free for a day?

Working fine for me. Could be just you.

Yeah I swapped off of standard video mode and it plays fine. Just annoying because their shitty extra features mode always delays the stream by like a minute for some reason.

>Marco starting
I'd prefer him as a lefty specialist. Guess we probably do need a starter or two after all

And what did I tell you. >We better kick some ass this offseason

>Iwakuma ded
;_;

I would say fine for now since he did not fuck up. The Jerry Dipito mess was horrible. Hopefully he would not screw the M's.

Jerry's doing fine for now here. Made a few great trades (Gamel, Haniger, Segura) but also hasn't had luck on a few of them (Gallardo, Valencia). He's yet to buy yet because he's been treated with crappy FA markets until this one. I heard he left the Angels because Arte had the final word in team affairs and was responsible for the Pujols, Wilson, and Hamilton deals.

Yep. Also Scoscia did get along with Dipoto.

>Marco starting
I really don't understand why they'd start him instead of Albers.

Same! Albers has been great on the mound. I don't understand it either. He nearly no hit the Angels last time. Probably won't be starting next year either though. He's fine as a lefty specialist.

Scioscia is signed for another year, i don't understand the hate for him, i guess that's just what happens when you are in the public's eye.

Probably will lose upton and Phillips. Rumor is Cowart 2B, valbuena 3B (no escobar)

>Valbuena at 3rd
Should be a guy like Moose or Frazier imo. Maybe even Neil Walker at 2nd.

Aww shit, the Angels lose Upton? I liked that he is kinda solidified the outfield. I really like for the Angels to get Moose. What is Arte thinking when he resigned Scos for one more year?

True, they need to fill that spot, but looks rather unlikely as the focus will be on acquiring pitching, and another rumor is they will save money for Machado (please i hope to god they don't) when his contract is up

I'm taking it that Angels fans have run out of patience for Scioscia if this is what I'm seeing.

It wasn't just for one more year. I'm pretty sure it's been coommon knowledge he has been under contract until 2018.

Im afraid that once he's gone we will really realize how much he did for the team, and realize the losses weren't all his fault.

Machado's going to the Yankees. Guy wants to be the next A-Rod for the Bronx.

Lmao.

Well, everyone hates him, has a short temper, and will be grossly over-paid.

I'd say he'd make a good A-rod

NELLIE
SEAGS

39th dinger

Harper and Machado would make the Yankees back to being the most hatable team in baseball bar none.

Mariners evoke more hate out of me, than the Rags and Asstros combined.

At least the fans aren't bad.

Cleveland had absolute shit tier. Almost yankee tier.

Manfred manufacturing a heel in the mlb world?

Who's the face? (Is it supposed to be the cubs? Lmao)

1995?
Cubs atm

Not really. I have grown to respect Scosc. I thought this year will be his last. I blame Arte for not doing enough bring very good quality players.

too many injuries do that

strange

Arte spends on the wrong guys thinking he's the western version of the Yankees and doesn't realize he's not letting the team build itself on its own.

Should we trade trout this off season?

Pretty sure we could get a very nice package of pitchers and prospects from the Yankees or red Sox for him along with cash

I wouldn't yet and knowing Arte he'd never allow it.

they seem more like the mets to me. no offense

ZUNIBOMBER
What a year it's been for him

The Angels are gonna lose their superstar if Arte did that. Mike wants to stay in Anaheim. Arte better not fuck up.

I could see that. Angels have been more successful than the Mets in recent years though. Although both suffer from little brother syndrome and can't keep up with the other team in their area.

Well our problem is our pitching is probably the worst rotation in the league combined with the worst bullpin in the league. Giving up trout to a suitor with either of those to offer will get us back into the playoffs sooner than holding onto trout and paying him more in the coming future will offer.

ZUNINO

And have Trout humiliate the Angels in the postseason? I'm gonna be really torn if Trout does leave.

>worst bullpen
Better than >ours that's for sure (both are top half in the league and AL alike anyways). That rotation kind of looks pretty bad though. That's why I think you'll spend on one of the pitchers this offseason. Besides, I doubt your owner will allow Trout being traded anyways, but if you wanted to get a mega package you'd probably have to give up more than just Trout as well.

Dumb browser had to crash

>Pazos
might as well give up 3 runs here

bend it like beckham

right in his glove

How to fix the Angels

>sign Lynn to a 5yr 90 million contract
>sign Moose to a 5 year 85 million contact
>Upton opts in
>trade for Kinsler
1. 2nd Kinsler
2. RF Calhoun
3. CF Trout
4. LF Upton
4. 3rd Moose
6. DH Poopholes
7. 1st Cron
8. SS Simba
9. C Maldonado

SP: Richards, Lynn, Shoey, Skaggs, Ramirez/Heaney/Tropeano(one of these pitchers will be good)

Find bargain bin relievers like you did so well this year, Eppler.

Boom, Angels are back to contending.

Not bad. Forward it to Eppler. I was thinking the same thing, except for Kinsler.

>trade for kinsler
That'd be a stretch with what little we have in the farm and it'd also mean that the team would have to win now or the Angels have officially wasted Trout and you'd have to start from scratch.

That's also a bit too high for Lynn and could turn into dead money but I like Lynn the most out of the FA starters.

pitching has been solid so far

That'd put the Angels above the luxury tax. Doubtful it will happen.

It wouldn't cost them any significant prospects to get a 35 year old Kinsler.

...

But it's going to put us above the luxury tax, which means they could be the most financially fucked if this doesn't work out. Arte already screwed the pooch over the Pujols contract and spending anything above $200M this offseason will be a red flag either way given how much we still would owe him over the next 5 years (still $135M)

Arte will do it. He is getting old anyways. He needs to start trying to win and compete with the Dodgers.

saving

...

And put this team in financial hell? No thanks. I agree with one big contract, but two is pushing it.

All right, then forget Kinsler and stick with Cowart. Cowart is a good defensive second baseman.

Pujols only has four years 100 million AAV left on his contract.

They are going to be in financial hell as long as Pujols is on the books. Might is well just ride it out for four years and see if Trout stays or goes.

There's still no way we'll be able to have Upton, Moose, AND Lynn at the same time though. Two will suffice with the financial limitations in the way. We also need a definitve closer. Cam, Blake, or Bud can't do the job as they are middle to long relievers at best. Going for Wade Davis or Greg Holland would make more sense over Upton/Moustakas anyways.

freaking trout

I'm still suspect over Trout. He rarely does shit in high leverage situations. I know there is not enough sample size, but I think this kid would choke if he were ever on a heavy market team like the Yankees. He doesn't do well under pressure. Maybe the Angels missing the playoffs for 5 of his 6 years has shielded him from Kershaw-like criticism.

$100M is still a lot of money we're going to be owing Pujols. I want Trout an Angel for life, giving him superficial supplements hasn't worked before. You need to be smart with that remaining money and get younger rather than try to be the AL West Yankees. It hasn't worked out.

Well, then fuck Moose and just go after Lynn for less money than I proposed. Maybe they can win on Wade. Angels problems are more caused by their pitching than their hitting.

That'd be fine. Anymore Pujols and Hamilton deals and I'd just about have it with Arte carelessly spending. We should have won much earlier but pitching shits the bed every time it matters.

could you avoid collapsing, m's

Nick Vincent has really been bad this 2nd half.

I still think the worst deal he or the front office ever pulled was trading for Vernon Davis. That was more fucktarded than the Hamilton/Pujols deals. Also, the Gary Matthews Jr deal. Yuck.

I think Eppler is the first smart GM the Angels ever had. He's done so much with so little. I'm sure he will work his magic to make the Angels a playoff team next year. Any GM is better than JeDi Jerry Dipoto. Dipoto is like an autist who thinks he's a beautiful mind.

>Vincent

Yeah he sure has, he was pitching fantastic for awhile there too, quite a drop off.

I guess not

...

If you combined the Angels and Mariners, would you have a world series contender?

Lineup: 1. Segura 2. Cano 3. Trout 4. Cruz 5. Upton 6. Seager 7. Cron 8. Zunino 9. Haniger

Rotation: Paxton, Richards, Felix, Miranda, Skaggs
Bullpen: Petit, Parker, Norris, Middleton, Alvarez

Was about to leave, really glad I stayed.

I think so. although paxtons and hernandezs health would be in question

just one rally

horrible collapse

gg angels

He has one of the worst post season records
