ITT: bands that never topped their debut
ITT: bands that never topped their debut
Why the fuck is it always the same with these threads? OP always starts with a request but is never able to provide an example to start off with.
>inb4 pinkercucks
What's the best pink floyd then
Wish You Were Here says hello
Slipknot
interpol
As much as they never recaptured those energy levels, Iowa is so much leaner and meaner
Primus, although it’s definitely debatable. Tales from the punch bowl, sailing the seas of cheese, and pork soda are all contenders.
Unpopular opinion but I don’t think Anthrax ever topper fistful of metal
100% true
King Crimson
meddle, dsotm and animals
red and larks' tongue in aspic
>red and larks' tongue in aspic
nope
the illusion is an effortless providence and epitaph aged like milk
Maybe could give you meddle, but dsotm is a retread of meddle and animals ia retread of dsotm, so definitely neither of those.
so right
no
nope
larks, red and discipline exist, user
DSotM
The Wall
Animals
Wish You Were Here
Pick One Brehffer

Correct.

Humbug.
Woman is better
AM is unironically better
Close between Larks & TCOTCK
Correct
DSOTM and WYWH are better
if you count le secret, then you're wrong.
TheeEEeEe ParTyyyy underated track
That's an EP. So I don't.
If we're counting EP's and mixtapes & shit, I nominate Death Grips.
Exmilitary is unmatched
versus is better in every way
Prove me wrong
Their next two albums, + SBS, are all better.
Master of Reality is their masterpiece.
it can't be done.
you are 100% right.
anyone who disagrees can be genuinely considered as having bad opinions.
see look at this newb - so young. so uncultured. but talks like he knows anything!
>Protip: That's not an argument
Try again.
S/T is good, and essential for everything that came after.
But it's also forgettable in the current landscape where metal has existed for decades.
look at this redditfag
he says "newb" unironically, but talks like he posts on Sup Forums all the time
>Black Sabbath's self-titled is forgettable.
WYWH is the only one that is debatably better.
Ummagumma is fantastic and could also be debated as their best.
whats to understand? the live tracks are good for what they are. the studio tracks however arent good at all. sysphus 2 and beginning of 4 are good but the others are shit cacophony pointless druggie nonsense. grandchester medows is good as well as grooving with a pict. narrow way 1 is boring, part 2 is more cacophony bullshit, and part 3 is alright, david gilmours first song afterall its not bad. and finally grand vizer is pointless just the drummer messing around barely even a song
OP is correct
>the wall
>good
been here since 2007 newfriend, though a lot of my language is influenced by all the videogames i get paid to play. as if i needed to jsutify anything to you lmao.
proof you're over the age of 18 and not american, otherwise your opinion is so void it is not even funny.
The Wall is a great album whether you pretend not to like it or not.
why is the wall great? its got so much padding and its some of rogers weakest songwriting (in comparison to the 4 records prior). the only saving grace is Gilmore's solos.
these
Well that's just like your opinion man
The album tells a story. The "padding" builds up the character traits and storyline. I'm probably biased because it's the Pink Floyd album I listened to the most as a kid.
>go to RYM
>literally every band never topped their debut
I dare you to find an exception.
I’m 21, however I am American and I fail to see how nationality plays into this
The Beatles
>literally the highest rated album on RYM
>your opinion is so void
Keep going to those ESL classes.
If the story was more interesting it'd give the music a bit more of an excuse, but it feels really egotistical to me and I almost always get bored halfway through it. A good album shouldn't sacrifice the quality of its music in order to tell a story, like Animals. Even with the political coat of paint that roger put on Animals the music was still really solid (though incredibly unsubtle), but that's not something I can say for The Wall. Do I really need to hear Another Brick 3 times to understand its message? I think if it was narrowed to 40-50 minutes I would like it a lot more.
