A theatre near me is showing this movie in 35mm film really soon. I've never seen it before.

Is it worth the $13 and the hour long drive?

if you like cinema yes

damn that's a cool ass theater. Where you located OP?

im a big fan of the stalker games

would i enjoy this?

Where is this happening?

no Sup Forumstards with a 30 second attention span should not watch this

there is no super mega epic gunfights

there is no wow swag neato mutant zombies

there is no ebin fallout gameplay but for HARDCORE le nerds xDDD

its 3 dudes walking in a field for 3 hours with barely any dialogue

you will need to look up the plot on wikipedia after you watch it, if you even finish it

and youll probably watch it dubbed like a fucking animal

...

no, you fucking Sup Forumsirgin
>no le 360 no scopes xDD
>no le chink cartoon characters

>near me
>hour long drive

It's in Melbourne, called the Astor Theatre.

An hour isn't that far, really.

Yes, but with a 2 hour trip counting there and back plus the movie is long expect to be out awhile.

Yeah that's true. I'm actually going there tomorrow to watch all three Back to the Future movies back to back. It's going to be a long day.

Roadside Picnic > Stalker games > Stalker movie

I would

It's great. I dumb people think it's boring though

all 3 were fine

i dont know why autists are so intent on comparing them, the film is only very loosely based on the novel and the games have pretty much nothing in common besides the name

if 'arthouse' movies with calm pacing, ambiguous stories, and minimal dialog are the kind of thing you would normally watch and get something out of, yes, seeing it in 35mm in a theater is worth the drive and the money

How do you find out about arthouse/old movie showings in your area?

show us where the video games touched you XD

The games have about as much in common with the book as the movie does. Which isn't very much but they both pick and choose things that fit their medium. I'd love an actually faithful movie adaptation of the book but I doubt that'll ever happen. I think it could fit as a game too even without the combat since there's really none in the book either.

About a year ago I really wanted to watch Lawrence of Arabia in a theatre, and was looking up some special theatres in Melbourne. Turns out we have one, and that's where I found it.

I finally got to fulfill my dream of watching it last week.

I'm sure the US, or wherever you're from, will have a theatre that plays older movies.

What movie is this?

On their website it only says theyre showing the h8ful 8

its crazy that there are actually people too underaged and uncultured for a board thats 90% capeshit, star wars, and nigger porn

Honestly, for a video game movie, it's probably as good as it gets. It's worth it for that novelty alone.

Stalker.

Looks like the last arthouse cinema closed in my town in 1998.
We've still got one decent one that plays some of the more obscure movies that come out though.

sick poster

No, it's a trash movie about three LARPers that wander around some typical Soviet outskirts and do literally nothing but talk about some bullshit that isn't even deep.
It's a little bit pretty but that's it.
