What kind of Sikh family were you raised in?
The Sikh's destiny is to be one with God. Ego is something that is to be discarded, yes, but that's in the sense that you remember the naam in your heart, as you walk the world. It will happen in it's own time, since God has purpose for us to be here. That's why we're told not go fuck off and be ascetics. We have to live our life, and to live in this world means you have to embrace it! God gave us choice, it is upto us to use it, not just for ourselves.
I despise you liberal fucks. I'm not part of some hippy dippy shit that in reality is just selfishness. I don't need to be judged as "a real Sikh" by you.
I'm all for everyone is free to be who they want, to worship who they want (since there is no one and only path to God), to do what they want free of chains - but it is also important to live not just a life, but a RIGHTEOUS life. A righteous life means you stand up for freedom, for the lives of others and NOT JUST YOUR OWN. It means leading a good life NOT because it gives you rewards here or in the hereafter, but because that battle to be good, do good is one that must be fought every day. What you espouse is just asceticism, so focused on the next world you forget about this one, combined with extreme narcissism, because you keep thinking of how you're going to get 'rewarded'.
We have to stand up for our neighbors, our cities, our nations, our cultures that we adopted because that is what is right. And you know what the highest honor for us is, as human beings, not just Sikhs?
SACRIFICE FOR OTHERS!
THAT IS WHY WE TOOK UP THE SWORD! We took up the sword not because merely we were being killed, but others were! THAT IS WHY WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ARMED. It was to PROTECT that which is precious. Civilization, and happiness, which is always one generation away from being lost.
My countrymen..this freedom, our history. These are all precious to me. Like hell I'll allow a militant death cult to take it away.
