This is really specific, but what are some great albums with a really good spoken word segment?

patti smith - horses (if you count the intro to horses)
sonic youth - evol (in the kingdom #19)
sonic youth - daydream nation (providence is great)
sonic youth - bad moon rising (i'm insane)

>Speak To Me

Pretty much every Tom Waits album has a good spoken word piece in it

This one had some hilarious skits in between the songs

When it comes to spoken word, Coil are the ones who do it best imo

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Eyes Like the Sky

lift to experience- The Texas Jerusalem Crossroads. Also just generally an amazing album that gets nowhere near enough love.

not spoken word

musically it's not as good as some of his earlier ones and it's not as sad as it could have been so it doesnt get the "le so sad" kids praising it

He said great albums.

>but hes speaking words

Minutemen - Double nickels on the dime

Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. The second track has a lot of it

also their albums Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, and F#A# Infinity

Have A Nice Life has some good spoken word samples. The song Cropsey, as well as Destinos come to mind

others have suggested Giles Corey's self titled album-- I wouldn't call it "music" but the other album "Deconstructionist" has repetitive, dark vocal samples similar to Soundtracks for the Blind

The album "666" by Aphrodite's Child is a psych-rock re-imagining of the Book Of Revelation, which has some spoken word portions

The violinist from Godspeed was involved in a one-album project called Valley of the Giants. The track "Whaling Tale" is the only one with spoken word, but it always stuck out and really resonated with me

The Evpatoria Report has some spoken word samples, particularly on their album Maar, which IIRC, has at least 2/4 tracks with some spoken word. They're similar to Godspeed but less interesting, however they're like, one of the best who imitate them

Finally, worth mentioning is Blithe Field. It's a nostalgia fueled ambient project that makes me feel like a kid when i listen to it, and is the most positive emotion-wise out of the group. Lots of samples of the artist's home video audio from when they were growing up. The album Old/New Songs is my favorite. This is from a different album, but to give you an idea what the sample are like, it samples a voice mail message left by a friend of the artist
