Half Life is a decent enough opening track, but the rest of the album does absolutely nothing for me. It's a slow, tedious affair. An album like Filth isn't just a "heavy" album- it's kinetic, exciting, intense, and that's part of what makes it such an interesting listen. Cop has all of the brutality but none of the energy. It's sludgy and dirge-like, and not in a good way. It just plods along without ever really engaging. It's the auditory equivalent of walking through mud. That's really all I can say- I don't like it as much because I find it boring. It's not a bad album by any means- Swans don't have any outright bad albums. It's just that I don't get anything out of listening to it. Greed has a similar problem, for the record, but I like it more solely because it has the superior version of Fool.
