Not a SINGLE b'z album. Get Survive, The 7th Blues, Eleven, just get the entire discography and pick what you like.
It has The Seatbelts at the top of Japanese jazz so obviously it's not meant to be taken seriously or considered useful
Also, the entire Kazuki Tomokawa discography
Heaven's Kitchen by Bonnie Pink is a fantastic J-Pop album
Only a EP but i prefered over their recent full album. Track 4 is really fucking good
Personal shill:
>She Her Her Hers - stereochrome
The issue I had with Capacity over In Full Color, Honenuki and Dai-Seigi was how about 40% of the album was remade tracks from the EPs. It's still really good, though, all the songs are great, but the album could've been much better.

Pizzicato Five - Happy End of the World
Ooohh... I have this record. Its really good and I like how it takes influence dance music.. Their first LP is my favorite from them but this band has so many good albums that you will happily spend hours exploring their discography.
>Time Limit
>Space Road
>Midnight Rendezvous
Aunt Sally - Aunt Sally
Show me one Fermenting Dregs song that's straight shoegaze. They're shoegaze-influenced but everything I've listened to by them is not shoegaze.
This album right here, 10/10
Ruined the rest of her discography for me
Round Table ft. Nino
all of it
No mention of Boris? For shame, moo.
the punk section is fucked
Advantage Lucy ep
They have good taste in album art.

LLLL is one of the best active musicians out of Japan right now.

Essential albums

Literally any YMO
Yes
Also really surprised nobody's said this yet
What's with this trend of youtube uploads just randomly drumming up a shitload of cult-esque interest in obscure, old Japanese music? All of these stuff is so pseudo normie because so much of it is shit people just find on youtube, but it's old and overlooked and also japanese so it's still hip to like it.
Fucking weird.
Came to post this
>city pop
>obscure
Maybe in the west, but it's not obscure. I don't think actual obscure old japanese music gets caught in the YT algorhythms.
Also, some of us have been listening to this stuff since before Youtube existed.
Can anyone recommend me more like this please? Doesn't even necessarily have to be Japanese - just want more punk mixed with jazz
Aint that Korean?
my nigga
what do ya'll think of Buck-Tick?
Naked City - Torture Garden

An Insatiable High - Masayoshi Takanaka
385-Ningen. More funk/punk, but still kinda jazzy. I find this is the most similar to Mindoro that I’ve heard

This album is just full to the brim with 10/10 moments.

Better stick around to 4/4 p4k approved indie trash for le sad teens as yourself.
One of the best post-punk/new wave bands, guys are also still going strong to this day.
Good compilation, but doesn't have White Ash
EZ listening. I found this album on /t/ and fell in love with it.
when I first listened to it, I was pissed because I couldn't tell if I should have been disappointed for listening to lounge music like that or if it was just really fucking good lounge music
How the fuck do you expect me to find the name of this album? I can't type out moon runes with my superior QWERTY keyboard.
Some good Jap-jazz
