The prohibition was over and we did a dance called the "macarena"

The broads were classy

Well I saw 9/11 happen live and pretty much went "Oh...so this is why people watch the news"

Dating was a lot easier and women didn't overvalue themselves as much.

Men were also less beta.

Not as cool as growing up in the 90s.

I didn't have to worry about paying bills. ;_;

less sjw shit, you were still considered a wigger if you listened to rap music, people did it anyway. kanye west wasn't god, dirty south rap was really popular. skateboarding was also really popular. good times.

The 90s but good and none of the edge involved.

>Not The Funky Grandpa
Macarena a shit.

Unless you're 6 years old, you should know.

2000s were a slow decline, where the 'us vs. them' mentality caught on its resurgence everywhere thanks to our three favorite numbers, bit by bit subjects became more and more taboo, it became much more socially acceptable to say treasonous things about the President, and professional victimhood became an established practice.

This. People shit on 90's constantly, but being a kid in 90's was fucking great.

Social media was a mistake.

Dan Schneider

That meme was until way after that song died tho

It created a whole generation of 5s that think they are eights because of beta 4s

about the same but with less cellphones, social media and babby gays

Movies and music got worst.
Children and women ruined the internet.
Little pieces of turds thinking they have an opinion on things started to be nostalgic on events 10 years ago.

It really sucked and it's still happening.

Shit
youtube.com/watch?v=J16lInLZRms

I was a kid in the 90s and turned 13 in 2001. can confirm it was great.

Terrible, no friends and no happines after my 11 birthday. Now im 26 years old, with no friends and a kissless virgin. The worst thing is that i live brazil.

Depends on where you lived

How are you a virgin in Brazil?

If you get a job you can fuck any of those women.

>subjects became more taboo
>it became more acceptable to say treasonous things

it was so comfy

I want anime, emos, alternative, myspace, cosplay and fun back

those were all extremely cancerous though, thank god that bullshit is dead

>my 17 yo cousin asked me about 9/11 a few days ago

Fuck man, time really flies.

Glorious, much better than the shitty 90s then Facebook and mobile phones ruined everything.

>scott pilgrim

go fuck yourself dweeb

I know. He has direct access to some of the finest trannies.

Go fuck a delicious trap, you nig nog.

myspace was great for meeting up with qt's at local shows and stuff, parents genuinely had no idea how to use the internet so if you were a kid using the internet you felt like a renegade hacker. good shit.

It sucked. I was an outcast for being into computers and such. Now every little faggot thinks they're hot shit measuring their alienware junk and latest iphones.

oh it was before le SJWs ruined everything user let me tell you, you could be politically incorrect and never get in trouble because our country was more mature and

420

boring as fuck

90s were better by 100000000%

you saw the star wars prequels as a kid and you actually liked them

>people who were born after 9/11 will be able to get a license this year

We didn't go on the internet for 6 hours a day and we actually went outside to play sometimes, although not as much as 90's kids because video games were getting bigger. I do remember riding my bike around the neighborhood and visiting my friends in the late 90's though. Also some things were still a mystery because not everything was available on the internet yet.

What this guy said.

> three favorite numbers
1. Three digits.
2. Two numbers.

See, stuff like OP's gif is usually vanilla as fuck to me, but when Anne Hathaway does it, it lights my dick up.

> it became much more socially acceptable to say treasonous things about the President
Go home, Dick, you're drunk.

any of those subcultures are still 1000% more meaningful than anything we have today

>internet tough guy

woah watch out guys. lmao fuck off faggot.

> less cellphones
Fewer.

they still do that faggot the only difference is that kids have a super computer in there pocket instead of a gameboy which is objectively cooler

*DIALUP NOISES*

That song is from like 1996 though.

There are like 4 kids in my neighborhood now that ever go outside to play.

born in '86 here, can confirm everything was better before idiots figured out how to use the internet.
I could care less about world events. when I saw 911. I described it as "weird" which in most cases would be an understatement.

maybe they grew up and moved out loser

Those were the days, when the internet felt like a magical realm and it took you like a minute and a half just to get on it, and even then it was slow as fuck.

00s were a decade of nothingness
its just a big pointless fog in peoples memories

10s are super shitty too but at least they are memorable because of how insanely political and hysterical everything has become as we inch closer to the precipice to war between mindless faux-communists and rational people

Worst part about today's culture is how it is piggybacking on the success of cultures long past their prime, especially faux nerd, which I'm hoping dies sometime soon.

>being rude about Scott Pilgrim
lowest of the low

Only the first one. I was old enough to see the bullshit of Episode II for what it was.

>before idiots figured out how to use the internet.

It wasn't that as much as social-media condensing the internet.

I do miss dial-up days if not solely due to the content around that time with usermade sites [via Angelfire/Geocities] and the feeling of exploration; sites having their own flavors.

The internet, now, is basically large hubs, whereas it used to be multiple hubs spread out.

how come girls dont wear their thongs like this anymore

Arguably, Limp Bizkit, Korn and Eminem - and Rap going mainstream - did away with this.

Well hello there! How come I don't remember you?

the 2000's was a decade of rehash with very little originality. Literally just scene faggots and trashy commercial hiphop is all that came out of that decade culture wise.

Not as cool as growing up in the 90's

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKK

The 00s were HIV and the 10s so far (minus Trump) have been AIDS

On what planet is anime and cosplay dead? Those are more popular then ever with the rise of internet distribution. Conventions are growing in size and popping up all over the place. Emo was replaced by the new edgy kid look (scene or some shit) and MySpace gave way to Facebook. Things don't change, they just rebrand themselves.

>Saw episode I as it came out in cinema, I know I didn't like Jar Jar and found it boring, was so bored the only thing I remember was going to the bathroom before pod racing

I had to see that piece of shit twice in cinema. Couldn't back out of it due to the second one being a paid school trip and I would be a dick for not going or refusing my money back. The fucking Yoda fighting Dooku scene was where my love for Star Wars officially died.

Because it's better to wear tights with no undies at all now ;^)

Because it looks retarded. Only Chads think it's sexy.

rly make u think

>literally dialing up to go on a website like playboy.com and there were actually naked chicks on there

What's the source of that giffe?

I don't understand why people consider Korn in line with rap metal. They did a song with Ice Cube once and pioneered the whole aggro/bass/pop metal sound that evolved into nu metal, but Korn and System of a Down and Deftones were always separate from Limp Bizkit, POD, Crazy Town, etc.

1999. Got popular in 2000.

Check mate atheist.

>Unless you're 6 years old, you should know
how would a 30 year old know what growing up in the naughties was like?

true, also it wasn't common for every house hold to have a computer in 90s compared to today anyway.

I don't even bother with cons. it's so insanely obvious how many ppl go there for the sole purpose to dress up. I'm trying to sound elitist but it goes for any interests. fake mother fuckers ruin everything for attention.

AMATEURPAGES.COM

Probably because how Rap Metal came to sound was somewhat similar to Korn's sound.

All of those bands seemed to blend together, imo.

Also: fuck Crazytown's butterfly song. I had to hear it on repeat when I used to go to LA Fitness years ago.

the "fans" nowadays are somewhat dishonest

probably trying to milk youtube careers or insta likes out of it

Everyone was pop emo trash. Hearing faggoty screeching on the radio for like 8 years straight.

>People who were born before the boer war are all dead
really makes you think

>kids born 18 years ago will be 18 this year
Just let that sink in

>people who weren't alive for 9/11 will be 16 years old this year

>aggro/bass/pop metal sound that evolved into nu metal,

Beastie Boys were doing it in the eighties.

Damn I remember our highschool hag who used to have visible strings. Every place in class behind her were always full good times.
I was a kind in the 90 ies and teenager in the 00ies.
It was a good time to grow up. I'am a little sad that people were into nu metal and grunge style when i was a teenager and became ultra slut mode when I was already out of high school
But honestly this were the times to grow up before all went to shit

>Born in '86
>Doesn't know the expression is "couldn't care less"
>Doesn't understand why
>Calls others idiots

I can't be this old. Please stop.

The worst part about the change in Zeitgeist since the 00s is simply "the internet".

The internet went from a technical, or gaming platform for geeks, to a mainstream normie daily usage platform.

Everything is different now. In 2005 I still had a black and white Nokia cellphone and hang out with friends after school.

Im a teacher now and kids after school send each other memes, when theyre not too busy fucking or doing drugs.

Ofcourse kids that too in the 00s, not but ALL OF THEM.

Lastly, the real scary thing is the (de)evoltion of mainstream music.

The radio in 2000 still played music.

From pop, to hip hop, rock classics, ballads, folk songs, etc.

Nowadays its all BZzzTK WUUUHaaaaaahawawawa BZtzt

Fuck the next generations. They are lost.

Pointless fog was from 2001-2005 after 9/11, tried to get one last push for salvation in in 2006-2007, then after 2008 everything just shit the bed in the most nightmarish of ways.

the fuck are you talking about radio music has been trash since the 90's

Actually, the current oldest living person (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Morano) was born 1 month into the Second Boer War in 1899.

My father grew up in a time when there were still Civil War veterans alive.

I would say movies took a worse hit than music, every movie coming out now may as well be the same. Seriously, look at the blockbusters for the ten biggest grossing movies and there's nothing memorable about them.

Ugh. I didn't realize. To this day I don't understand how Creed ever got popular. They were just another shitty 90's alt rock band that was spawned from the grunge movement.

do you not know what a typo is? lol

What the fuck is with that editing

WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN

I think the fog began in 2002. 2001 -- aside from 9/11 -- was actually a pretty fun year, from what I remember.

Still, I don't remember much of the 00s.

You deny then that you could plaster images of George dubya's face on a donkey's ass all over without repercussion, but any references to bombs put you on instant watchlists?

Maybe you grew up in a different 2000s then.

had to hide one of my passions.
I was more fun going to a store that had EVERY computer component rather than shopping online.
Although the occasional ultra cocky employee would put a damper on the fun.

...

Stylistically Korn are quite different to Limp Bizkit, but they exploded ( around ) the same time, Fred Durst was on "All In The Family", Davis was in the "Break Stuff" video, they toured together last year.

They were all about pingy piccolo snares and detuned 7-string Ibanezes with spooky, wailing, chorused/reverberated leads and hip-hop 'beats', and they'd have rap or that 'FLIB-BE-BE-ZHU-RAP-AP-PA-UM-GAH-PA-PA" shit Davis did.

Were they not the two biggest names in Nu Metal?

You're probably right. Most of 2000 was actually great until September, and I wasn't aware at the time that it would cause like a catastrophic generation-defining misery. I'd say we're seeing and feeling the effects of it way more than we even were in all of the 2000s.

I was playing Nanosaur on the Mac and Halo on the Xbox. I tried to convince my mum to let me watch King Kong by telling her I love swearing and violence I can take it and then the giant worms gave me nightmares. When I was a kid my favourite kinos were Iron Giant and Toy Story. The first and only time I saw it I thought the cat in the hat was a good film. I haven't seen it in 13 years. I got mars attacks on dvd for my 5th Christmas but got too scared when the invasion started and couldn't watch the rest. The first 18 rated film I saw was Wanted. When I was 11 I started watching porn on my original iPod touch, which had replaced my portable CD player walkman, which would always be playing the first album I owned, Whatever people say I am that's what I'm not. My friends and I would make dens in the wood with abandoned sofas and set stuff on fire.

>Typo
Sure thing, dawg. You lying to me, or to yourself?

2001*
