Hip hop is a strange genre, that like rock music then to punk music. Hip Hop past its phases from the 90's to soundcloud now a days has no inert quality to stay one genre. With every rap group, individual artist and even producers there is a complex art to making hip hop. The 20 year swing is good to mention because as seen with 90's hip hop the sounds of the 70's were being sampled in that era of Hip Hop. Today the genre is it's own four letter word. No two artists sound the same. Rapping and hip hop are different. Hip hop started with breakbeats.
