How hard is it to roll into screenwriting? How do people even roll in the industry at all?

How hard is it to roll into screenwriting? How do people even roll in the industry at all?

Take a (((guess)))

just b yourself

jesus, she's cute

I hear the need actual good writers, hence the reason hollywood is shitting out the same garbage over and over again.

I'm ready to work for food
I dont even eat a lot

It's almost like winning the lottery really

Most of the screewriters in interviews have some kind of bullshit starting story of it happening out of the blue and BAM instant high budget production films.

But you have to be good. Really good. And spam everyone around yourself with it.

Who are these people who write for tier2 tv series or even cartoons

I imagine you write something, and then a decade later a Ridley Scott-type picks it up and has somebody rewrite it.

Ideally you'd want to be the person who rewrites it. Other than that I don't understand how screenwriters eat. If you're not Aaron Sorkin, you must be dealing coke or something.

Bump

Dude just write a blog for a year and do some freelance and you can get an internship at a tv show writing room and get a job from there. That's the real path to doing it.

She also has the best legs in the world.

fat

she carries weight in a delicious way though. She doesn't look bad at 10 lbs overweight like some women do.

you don't actually need to be a good writer to make it in hollywood. Damien Chazelle is a terrible writer, much like Max Landis or the dynamic duo Kurtzman and Orci. all really terrible screen writers but they get work all the time because they are well connected or jewish.

Step one: write a script

Done

Write a script, get a lawyer, take pictures of everything you've done. When you're convinced that your script is good, send it to TV channels, director, other screenwriters. If they contact you, congratulations. If they use your ideas, arrange a lawsuit, then you'll get both money and recognition.

!!1

Are you a liberal? If not, you're totally fucked. Everything else, like religion and class, can be negotiated.

Obviously not if many of these shit screenwriters still get work.

>do some freelance
Where/how

>and you can get an internship at a tv show writing room
Do they come to me, or do I come to them?

Step Two: be jewish

...

Idk how. The whole "you gotta be really good" meme is stupid cause many screenwriters working today are fucking shit. It don't make sense how they get work

It's gotta be jew connections/connections to people they know

the magic of nepotism

This. If you're even libertarian, you're basically fucked.

Try being Jewish, for a start.

Not being born a Jew is the single biggest mistake a person can make in life, OP. Just throwing that out there.

If you think (((we))) will ever give back the megaphone after what your race did to ours, you're crazy. We're gonna jam self-loathing down your throats until you choke on it

do freelance for literally anyone who will publish you. Contact every and any outlet that does publishing. Don't be picky and try to write for only movie websites or something like that. Write stuff on your own, too, like a blog or personal website with regular updates. For the internships you go to them, email them.

I'm not a writer, so that's all I know.

Ask any barista in the Los Angeles area.

This is only partially true, nearly every film big enough for you to have heard of goes through so many rewrites and notes from higher ups that even if the official writer has some talent, everyone else responsible for the film wants a much simpler, much more familiar, stupid movie.

>t. nazi, assmad that he can't write for shit

The first step to becoming a successful writer of any kind is to learn more verbs than "roll"

I just want to worship MEW like the goddess she is, is that so much to ask

this lol

if a successful screenwriter posted to Sup Forums would you bully him like Max Landis or worship him

>swn strangle you with her thighs
;_;

This is fucking bullshit. There are tons of flagwaving military-glorifying 'Merrica'-shouting idiots out there selling their products. Because there's a huge market of idiots out there and always was. They are known as plebs.

I'm a great writer, but I pursued a real career.

You don't have to be a nazi to have eyeballs capable of reading jewish names and a brain capable of pattern recognition.

Having a baseline education really helps, as well as not being afraid to write for shit TV movies before you get something big

write spec scripts
no money, but its work, like interning

normal people don't look for patterns like that. that's not a jab at you or whatever but genuinely normies don't see "written by Ivan Lipschitz" and go "lel, of course"

No it really isn't. Most media is now in the hands of Jews and their pet retards; the feminazis and illegals. Things are going to get better now that Trump is in office though. : )

Most direct route would be to go to go to Uni, take a screenwriting class, then present the professor with a highly polished screenplay that's not shit, and convince him/her that it's good enough for them to use their former/current connections to get someone to read it.

I'm sorry you have not received even one serious response but film school fag here and I have been looking into this for years now.

I can tell you right off the bat that screenwriting is probably the most competitive area besides acting because everyone and their mom is a "writer"

The average Agency or Production Studio literally has stacks of hundreds of scripts by people just like you.

It really helps to get an agent, but that is traditionally very difficult so

Write spec scripts- Usually work for the nepotism crowd

Read scripts- You can become an intern that basically reads the scripts and writes basically a book report about what it was about and themes and things like that. If you can prove you know what you are talking about you may be able to impress the right people

You can try sending your work to people but it is really hit and miss on who actually wants to read unsolicited material.

Or you can learn to make the films yourself. This is the longest and hardest route but almost the only option if you don't already have connections.

Its a hard long and lonely road. You have to be a little bit of an idiot and very passionate to put up with being poor your whole life.

Happy trails!

This will only work at maybe the top 3 schools

max landis does suck tho

Obviously you have to be good

The real challenge is dealing with executives who impose impossible deadlines and are willing to shit on 3 months of work in 2 minutes

You could work really hard on a draft, then they don't like it and you have 1 week to make all 47 changes they imposed on you. If you cannot meet this deadline / refuse to make the changes because you don't like them, and if you're not a big name writer with any pull in the business, they will instantly fire you and find someone else

It's more management that talent, or rather the talent is in the managing the stress

If you're driven, intelligent, and dedicated you should be at a top school anywhere that provides opportunities for success.

Confirmed underage

>underaged

Nah, graduated from an Ivy, swindled away all creative opportunities by drinking instead of working hard.

> Still graduated with an Ivy League degree, but no kino career in entertainment

ywn date a 10/10 qt3.14

I assume the people who read the scripts and summarise them are paid pretty poorly? Because honestly, that sounds like something I'd be interested in doing, at least as a leg up to writing.

>he went to film school instead of films
Oh it shows user. It shows.

post your work faggot

Post work or you're full of shit.

You need to write and think like a Jew, and I'm serious about this. There's a certain anxious, intense, and insincere quality about Jewish writing that the entire world of moviegoers has been weaned on to, and since script readers are typically Jewish themselves, you will have a hard time scratching their itch unless you know how their brains work and what they like.

>Jews XD

Fuck off, Sup Forums. We haven't gotten anything we didn't earn with blood, swear and tears.

>Or you can learn to make the films yourself
This is the only way left. Making your own movies for no budget and distributing it for free is the only way to get into the business. You can't even work your way up anymore.

>This is the longest and hardest route but almost the only option if you don't already have connections
Watch every good film you can (easy with a high speed internet connection and a vpn) and practice writing screenplays.

The best way to get some experience is to work for free on other peoples low budget projects, just to see what has to be done. Be competent enough to trick people into working with you for free on your project.

Make short films and give them away for free. Short films are loss leaders, no one makes money off of them, so you might as well get them out there. You could submit them in festivals to pass the low bar of getting it listed on imdb, if you have the cash.

Write, produce, direct, and star in your own work. These short flicks are essentially advertising for your "talent".

If, by some miracle you do get a job in the business, work up the ladder. Direct/write/act in commercials, infomercials, tv comedies, made for tv or direct to video, cheap horror flicks, etc. All while working on your own screenplays and show/film ideas.

By this, you should have networked so much that someone will read your best screenplay for a few minutes, to fund a low budget film to get into a high profile film festival. If it's good you can work for another 10-20 years do get your movies made, like the director of La La Land.

>tl:dr
make your own movie

Do you live in a city? Find a local film school and pitch your script. Offer your services as a screenwriter to help with student films. Make a name for yourself, build a resume and IMBD profile, keep working on the blog or whatever. Don't forget, ALWAYS work for free for students, or else they won't even think about working with you.

And of fucking course you go to the network to apply for an internship, are you really this dense?

iktfb

One thing you could do is submit your screenplays to a high-profile contest. Some contests rank order every single screenplay submitted so you can have a fine-grained sense of what the judges thought of your work. Dont expect miracles though. Nicholas Horwood is a 40-something guy who's been placing first and second in major screenplay contests (talking 10,000 submissions or more) for years without a single sale to his name. He's been on on the Black List several times, but it doesn't mean much. The competition really is that insane.

It helps to be Jewish

>Shes married to some nu male fuck
Life isn't fair.

my friend sold a script last week

he is a novelist and had a literary agent who also did film rights for scripts

it's a Vietnam movie that was loosely associated with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre universe

That's cool. Would be fun to see a movie made by someone I know. Hopefully they dont fuck it up too much if they decide to produce it. What's his name?

You used "roll" twice and there are only two sentences in your post. I wouldn't worry too much about writing professionally if I were you.

sauce

I should also mention that the judges for these contests can be pretty political, so think twice if you're submitting something with a pro-religion or right-leaning point of view.

She pretty much has the best legs in the business. Big thighs are the best.

>learn to make films yourself

If you just want to be a screenwriter, how hard is it to find some guy in film school that wants to be a director and collaborate making your own films together?

She also has nigger eyes (brown)

Reading that guy's bio is fucking depressing. Doesn't even have an agent. Getting cucked by gentile genes must suck.

That's his own fault for not having an agent. You can literally land one for winning that many competitions. No shit...

His social skills must be fucking brutal. That's honestly a big part of it, I'd imagine. I don't know about screenwriting but I write for a living. I landed a good agent by meeting her at a convention and having good conversation with her. The writing has to be good but that got my foot in the door for her to read my stuff.

This guy's writing seems good but he has to get out there to where these people are and present himself well. I've seen better writers than myself not be able to sell shit because they're awkward as fuck around agents, editors, etc...

Yeah, I feel bad for writers with spergy qualities, because a lot of them go into writing because they don't have much of a social life to start with. But there's no denying how much of a role luck plays. The talent pool is so much bigger than the needs of the market when it comes to filmmaking. Hollywood could fire all its writers tonight, and tomorrow they'd be able to replenish the supply.

>tfw not Jewish

there is a lot of (((nepotism))) in Hollywood now, even more than there used to be

fugg
what movie?

just be yourself

same with actors

>emma watson and miles teller were initially set for the leads in La La Land

Pretty much. around 1/100 screnwriters achieve success. Usually, they are making commercials and worse.

And it has nothing to do with talent.

We have the """top""" 1% of screenwriters and hollywood is spewing garbage for years.

This pretty much explains it, writing attracts solitary people. The people working today are the top 1% in networking, not writing.

pointing out jew presence in the industry is pretty fucking normie ....

You write scripts 4-5 hours each day for a few years.

Then you let others know you did that.

sign a contract in blood to satan

They need good screenwriters because hollywood treats writers like redheaded step children. Why do you think theres a writers strike every decade or so? They have an important job but theyre overlooked easily because theyre not the big names, so they get pushed around and marginalized.

Would you even recognize their names?

t. Basementdwelling Australian

That's what happens in markets where the talent supply is so replaceable. If it weren't for the Writer's Guild, producers wouldn't have to pay screenwriters at all, since there'd be so many talented people willing to do the job just to get their name out there. It's kind of amazing, actually, how many people want to do such hard work for little recognition and not much pay.

Talent-wise, is this guy representative of the average Hollywood screenwriter? I like Chronicle, but I also watched that Frankenstein movie he wrote and couldn't believe how awful it was.

I can't imagine why someone would want to get into screen writing.

Whatever you write gets rewritten, or the actors change it when they adlib, or the studio changes it with reshoots. You literally on the bottom rung of the film industry. I'm sure even the caterer has more influence over the film than the writer does.

If you want awful, watch his Dirk Gently. Now that's awful.

Not as hard as rolling these dubs.

I'd say below average, since he never accepts Croatian for his writing, he'll blame production, or executives or whatever.
That movie was a fuxking mess, and after American ultra failed he blamed the marketing. I always thought bitching about behind-the-curtain stuff was a huge Hollywood no-no, but he still manages to get work.

Okay, so he's pretty much surviving off the good will his father has built up. Because if an ordinary screenwriter pulled that shit, I'm pretty sure they'd be fucking axed in a heartbeat.

>first Mary Shelley, now Douglas Adams

There's something extra terrible about a guy who fucks up not only his own creations, but other people's as well.
