Politicians don't take it seriously. Even some generals, they are very corrupt. But regardless, the official strategy is purely defensive. Every purchase of equipment the Ministry of Defense makes, every creation or disbanding of an unit, has in mind the defense of the country in case of an invasion. There are two main "fronts" that MD is working on right now: the Amazon and the "Blue Amazon". The Amazon rainforest is huge and makes up for much of the Brazilian border, so many investments have been made on that region. Blue Amazon refers to our special economic zone in the Atlantic. There has also been a special effort to develop indigenous vehicles, technologies, planes etc since the mid 2000s. There are plenty of other things to be said about it but I guess that summarizes it. I would say the military would be incapable of handling any large conflict with effectiveness.

There are none. Oficially there are no threats, not even tensions, but then again the MD's slogan is "preparing today for a challenging tomorrow". I think in terms of war waging capacities, the biggest threats would be (obviously) the US, UK and France (should they want to ever invade us), and Colombia/Venezuela, because they have a lot to do with cartels and we have a problem with that. As I already said, the Amazon region is very vast. If Colombia or Venezuela wanted to take parts of the Amazon from Brazil through force, they could easily do it. A war there would be a logistical nightmare for Brazil.

The one i went was the "Air Sunday". Free entrance and there was a few presentations including stunts from the "Smoke Squadron". But the weather was so shit that their presentation only lasted 5mins.
